Ratings v Stevenage

He's been doing it for years - only reason it was 'diguised' against Liverpool was due to the fact we were defending hard for most of the game so it was the perfect context to launch a few which he did with much delight. :D

and thats crap as well

Dawsons favourite long ball is almost always a pass out to a deep lying winger. The fact is, that he can do it and if and when it comes off it works wonders

when it doesn't - the chattering monkeys hit their laptops with glee and abandon

Cudicini - 6, one spill but fairly solid
Walker - 3, awful defensively and offered nothing going forward
Dawson - 5, defended very well up until the last 10 minutes when he was terrible. Awful in possession
Nelsen - 7, kept it simple and was solid
Kaboul - 5, OK defensively and awful in possession
Rose - 7, defensively decent and a threat going forward
Parker - 6, struggled until we switched formations
Livermore - 6, kept things simple but doesn't move the ball quickly enough or with any kind of purpose
Bale - 5, he is a winger. I don't mind him roaming but a central player is not
Defoe - 5, awful first half, thought he did better in the 2nd
Saha - 5, seemed to have the touch of Pav, with a similar level of work rate

Lennon - 6, lively but poor delivery
Kranjcar - 7, calming influence in possession

Pitch didn't help us, in terms of quality or width. We also didn't help ourselves as we didn't stretch the play and kept playing too direct. Saha and Defoe do not appear to have the makings of a good partnership.
