Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

All this talk of shin pads reminds me of these, that I had when I was younger.

We looked a much more composed team, second half after he came on. Hart barely had a touch.
The subs definitely made us a better team, as should be expected.

Wycombe also ran out of steam, they worked extremely hard in that first half and weren't able to keep it up to the same extent.

Aside from everything he does off the ball it does feel like he is key to setting the tempo, his passes may be simple but they are made quickly and accurately. Our second string has plenty of players who cannot pass ahead of a player or without the required pace or need a couple of touches before making the decision to release. I think this is why Mourinho looks to him when we struggle to get a foothold in the games he intends to rest him in.

In spite of all his composure in the midfield, he does however completely brick the bed when he can see the opponents goal!

His key pass stats are great. He does start the moves that lead to goals a lot which is not something to be ignored as their rarely simple passes

He's a specialist player, he does a job all top teams need.

What it means is someone else in midfield needs to provide the creativity (Ndombele), someone else needs to manage the possession (? upgrade place for us)
