Pav Contract Extention - Why is the Question ???

Isn't our option to extend it for a year? makes sense to trigger the clause and try and recoup some cash in the next window(s) rather than let him clear off for naff all.

Very simple. It runs out in the summer, which means he has virtually no re-sale value.

Take the option of another year or so and suddenly we have the chance of getting a few ?ú?ú?ú back.

We have done it a number of times before.

Or we could have sold him instead of asking for silly money. According to Pav's agent clubs werer ready to buy him but the problem is Levy wants to recoup his money. We have been so close this season but in the summer and during this window we refused to sell Pav an dsign an upgrade. The result i swe are left with a striker Harry obviously does not rate and in a very important away game we end up playing Defoe upfront when we all know it simply does not work.

By keeping Pav we are limiting our options. WHy the fuk did we not sell him last summer and get an upgrade, heck we had the whole summer to buy a striker FFS.

We did this with Stephen Kelly the day before we sold him.

It seems about all of our players are on 4+2 or 4+1 contracts where the club has the option to extend at its sole discretion.

According to Pav's agent, this happened 3 months ago anyway:

"Tottenham, headed by Mr [Daniel] Levy, had the option of extending his contract, and they have done so," Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov told Russian website championat.ru.

"They informed UEFA, FIFA and the English FA that they have extended the contract by a year. This happened about two or three months ago, so this is already quite old news."

Apparently Pavlyuchenko has had an alleged training ground bust-up with assistant boss Kevin Bond this week, which means he will never play for the club again. But no talk of a move today.

Should be interesting to see the team news tonight then with Defoe struggling to make the game.
