Our transfer spend season 11/12

These numbers are just the transfer fees and does not include numerous other expenses in connection with transfers: bonuses, agents, sign on fees etc. 10 million in does not equal 10 million available to spend.

Surely if you're looking at transfer spend, net transfer spend is the important thing? Considering that they're the ones who've been brought up in this thread, Arsenal recouped 70 million last summer. And haven't we made a profit over the past few windows?

And transfer spend, gross or net, is dwarfed by the yearly wage bill, which is by far the most impressive statistic for us considering how low ours is compared to our five competitors.

Levy said the new stadium wouldn't affect our spending but it clearly is.

Not necessarily. Our squad is at the stage where in more or less every position we have players of a very good standard minimum. Therefore the type of players we tend to be looking at is the top top class category which are a lot harder to acquire for various reasons - Not being in the CL, our wage structure (our biggest issue IMO) etc.

I think it's pretty obvious we have money to spend, we bid ?ú30m plus for Augero according to Athletico's chairman, Redknapp himself said we thought we had Mata in the bag until Chelsea came in for him......

whats Arsenals yearly wage bill compared to ours ?

need it for future ammo when 'debating' with Gooners
