***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs KAA Gent***

They extended it from 50k to 80k, so a sizeable amount more than the former.

The paradox is for it to be a good spectacle at Wembley, we can't win comfortably in the first leg.

Yes, double-edged sword. We're going next Thursday and although a big win tonight probably means a flatter atmosphere and a reserve team on show, It's better for the club the match is not is the melting pot forcing us to play more first teamers

Because Lyon is also playing, and UEFA don't want 2 games at the same time in such close proximity. It's got nothing to do with the league cup final.

Really? they are more than 40 miles away from each other - is it transport through Lyon airport or something? Is there a minimum distance allowed between fixtures?

31 miles. It's about 2,5 times the distance compared to WHL to Stamford bridge. I doubt there is a specific rule about distance, but If possible, Uefa don't want several European games to be played in the same city/area. St.Etienne and Lyon are also big rivals, and because of that I suspect there is also a security issue.

Gent beat Lyon, Valencia and Zenit in the CL groups last season and got to the last 16.

They've rested players in the league and concentrated on Europe.

So their league position so many are scoffing at means nothing.

Their coach has the ability to surprise Poch with weird formations etc. He's very clever.

If any of you expect so to play half a team a team and roll them over away you are going to be disappointed.

We need to play the first 11.

Agreed. Plus an away win to get back belief that we can win on our travels would be nice.
Time for the likes of Sissoko, Janssen and Nkoudou to prove their worth to Poch.

The problem as always in this competition is we are never up for the games. The opposition always treat it as the biggest game of the season.
This has to change. Look at how excited the Gent team are to draw us

The only way we are going to change the way we approach these games is by playing a full team, sending a message out that this is an important game. If we play the likes of Vorm, Wimmer, Trippier, Sissoko then the message the players will have in their heads is "it doesnt really matter and we still have the home leg anyway".

Yes the argument is that second string players will step up and try to get into the full team but the reality is they never do. The likes of Vorm, Wimmer and Sissoko are so far off their first team rivals that they know they have no chance of getting in the first team apart from an injury.

OS team :
Lloris (C)
Walker - Alderweireld - Dier - Davies
Wanyama - Dembele
Winks - Sissoko - Dele
Kane

Subs:
Vorm
Trippier
Wimmer
Eriksen
Onomah
Nkoudou
Son

Hopefully not Sissoko as a #10.

Perhaps something more like:

Lloris (C)
Walker - Alderweireld - Dier - Davies
Winks -Wanyama - Dembele
Sissoko - Dele
Kane

So you'd think certainly Poch will start Vorm, Wimmer, Trippier, Eriksen, Son, Janssen against Fulham and fill in the gaps with others. Maybe GK and Vertonghen too.

Decent strong line up. Could even be 433

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Dier Davies
Wanyama
Winks Dembele
Sissoko Kane Alli
