Exactly. I once had a coach, a top level coach who has been manager for Olympiacos, Brugge, Heerenveen, Gent +++. His philosophy was dead simple ;
"Attack when you can, defend when you have to."

Or we need players who can understand basics
Unless of course these players are gonna come good
Who knows...
What we do know is it’s the same mistakes that we’re made under Poch and he said... painful rebuild. So maybe it’s not the manager
But then we’re back to what’s been said a 100 times, why did we sack Poch then?
Ok well, it’s the Tottenham Hotspur merry go round

It'll be another summer of identifying the weakest links and fixing as many as possible. Just hope whoever's in charge can be ruthless enough and not hang on to crap players just because he likes their attitude or whatever.

These players have to come good because buying the numbers required is financially prohibitive.

Its the only way forward. Mourinho though has to stop being Mourinho, which is not going to happen.
He is such a miserable sod when asked about the last cup game he always concentrates on the negatives.
 
Feeling bitter with this defeat ! Really thought we were going to win the FA Cup this season, for the first time in 30 years ! Instead it looks like we will never win another FA Cup ! We have created so many jinx in the FA Cup like the semi final jinx and ManU jinx and now Everton looks like will be another jinx as we have lost our last 4 FA Cup matches to them.

I would rather we play boring football and win 1-0 than play entertaining football and lose 4-5 like this. Really hate the 3-3, 3-4, 4-5 circus like these. Thought we would never see these circus under a defensive minded manager like Mourinho but it has been proven wrong. Mourinho has to take the large part of the blame for resting Kane and playing Sanchez in defence. I think we would have won this match if Kane had started and we played Rodon in defence.

Credit to Sanchez, Lamela and Kane for the goals but we also wasted a few other chances to score. We should have rested Son and played Kane instead. Son got 3 assists but he didn't look like scoring. In fact, Son has to take his share of the blame for this defeat as he wasted a golden chance to score when we were leading 1-0. Kane scored a goal but also wasted 2 or 3 chances after that. Was really annoyed when he hit the freekick into the defensive wall late in the match.

Our whole defence have to take their share of the blame for all the goals conceded. Lloris should have done better with at least 2 of the goals, especially their first goal. Others like Alderweireld and Sanchez too have to take their share of the blame for the 5 goals we conceded.

So, we have gone out of the FA Cup. League Cup is our best hope to win a trophy now. But on current form we will need a miracle to beat Emirates Marketing Project in the League Cup final.
