****OMT***** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Crystal Palace - 11/01/14: 3pm

Football at White Hart Lane - Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace

Date Affected: Saturday 11 January 2014

Locations Affected: White Hart Lane
Description

In connection with the Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace fixture (kick-off 15.00), additional services have been arranged to run between Liverpool Street, Seven Sisters, White Hart Lane and Enfield Town.

Please note that Northumberland Park station is closed due to planned Network Rail track renewal work at various locations between Tottenham Hale and Harlow Town. Ponders End, Brimsdown, Enfield Lock and Waltham Cross also have no service - please use alternative stations on the Southbury route.

This work also means that any supporters travelling from stations between Bishops Stortford/Hertford East and Cheshunt (and also Theobalds Grove, Turkey Street and Southbury) will need to use rail replacement bus services to Enfield Town for the train service to White Hart Lane.

Supporters travelling from London will need to travel from Liverpool Street to White Hart Lane

Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Chiriches, Rose; Lennon, Bentaleb, Dembele, Eriksen; Adebayor, Soldado

subs: Friedel, Fryers, Capoue, Holtby, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Defoe

Actually Chadli will be on the bench instead of one of the others but apart from that I think it's very likely what we'll see.

The people predicting a goalless draw (or worse), are you professional pessimists? We're playing Crystal Palace at home, not Barcelona (although the colours aren't miles off!).

Come on. I'm far from Tim's biggest fan but he should be able to get us a result against these relegation-certs. We shouldn't even need to put in as good a performance as we did in our last home game in the league, which was our biggest win (3-0 v Stoke) in over a year FFS! At the end of the day, Palace mainly have a load of Championship players with the odd Premier League standard one. Yeah fair play, Pulis has improved them and made them tougher to beat but we have a multi-hundred-million worth team; they should have enough to defeat this lot. I'm aware they ran Emirates Marketing Project close, losing 1-0, but City were resting most of their top players if I remember correctly.

Was poor against the gooners but has a decent balance to it for a game like tomorrow's. Wouldn't mind seeing Holtby or Sigurdsson in the middle instead of Bentaleb though.

3-1 Spurs. COMEEEEE ONNNNN YOUUUUU SPUUURRS

Sherwood on Palace

Tim Sherwood says patience is key as we take on Crystal Palace at the Lane on Saturday.

Palace have enjoyed a revival following the arrival of former Stoke boss Tony Pulis on November 23.

They beat Hull that day – although Keith Millen was still in temporary charge – and have won three of nine matches in the Premier League since. That has lifted them to 18th in the table but they are within striking distance of the teams directly above – they are just six points adrift of Hull in 10th.

We go into the game with three wins and a draw in Premier League action over the Festive period, our last outing a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

After a spell of six games in 17 days since taking over, Head Coach Tim has been able to spend time with the players on the training pitch this week.

“It’s been a good week, first of all for the players to have a little rest, and then to have more time on the training field to put across a few more of the ideas we’re trying to implement for the long-term. It’s been a productive week,” he said.

“I think the lads done brilliantly over the Festive period with a small squad and gradually we’re getting players back into training. There will be a few more back in contention tomorrow as well.”

Tim feels Palace have showed ‘great character’ under Pulis.

“We know it will be tough and what to expect,” he added. “They won’t come and take the game to us, so we’ll have to be patient and try to break them down.

“We have to be a little more inventive in and around the penalty area and that’s something I think we’ve been lacking in the games I’ve been in charge. I’m hoping we can break them down and if we can get an early goal, we should move forward in a positive direction from there.

“Tony is a winner and he wants his teams to compete. As I said, we have to be patient and solid at the back and we will go out to win the game from the first minute.”

I am liking a lot of those comments from Sherwood, hopefully we will see some of the work done on the training ground this week bear some rich fruits

Doesn't look too bad.

I would take that. West Ham down in shame, Arsenal don't win the league, neither do Chelsea. Ok, we don't get top four but at least there's no Europa League next season.

So would I if I could swap the too Merseyside teams. Can't stand Liverpool anymore ...quite happy with Everton to get 4th.

And look at Fat Sam's West Ham Dis-United.....their predicament really warms the ****les......they are doomed I tell you ......doomed!!!!

really really bad day at work today...going into this weekend on a bit of a downer.

really hoping the spurs can cheer me up this weekend...

COYS lets create a bit of magic up front.

We are going to win tomorrow, it might not be pretty but the team seem to playing with more freedom. Forget last week, we always phone it in at the Emirates. I'm not saying it will be easy, but I'm confident we can get at least one goal.

Reading the Emirates Marketing Project line up they played differently from their normal setup (1 striker) and had no Kolo Toure, a player who takes them up a notch.

love it how everyone on here is playing down our chances, palace obviously much improved under Pulis but theyre pants away, we win handily

I am liking a lot of those comments from Sherwood, hopefully we will see some of the work done on the training ground this week bear some rich fruits

He is definately saying all the right things, seem to talk sense, im quietly impressed so far..

Surely, this has to be a must-win match at home. It may be a London derby but there is no excuse whatsoever why we cannot beat them. But it is going to be interesting how the team responds to the disappointment of losing to Arsenal in the FA Cup last week. We were very poor against Arsenal. So, we need some positive reactions from the team. We did well to beat Stoke 3-0 in our last home game. It will be great if we can get another win like that.

We need to get an early goal to help settle us down in this match. I think the longer this game goes without us scoring, the more pressure it will be on us. Hope Adebayor and Soldado will be up for this match after being poor against Arsenal. It seems like we are relying almost entirely on Adebayor for the goals since Sherwood took over. Hope Adebayor will go with his oal scoring boot for this match. Just can't see Soldado scoring from open play nowadays. But how nice it will be if he can get one here.

Hope the midfielders will wake up for this match after falling sleep against Arsenal. Both Dembele and Eriksen did well to score against Stoke. Want to see a similar performance here. For all his trickery and pace, Lennon should be scoring more goals. Hope Capoue will start in midfield as we will need him to stop the Palace attacks. Hope Lamela is fit and will get some playing time as he has not played much recently.

Wish Vertonghen is fit for this match. Without him, our defence can't seem to keep a clean sheet nowadays. But even without Vertonghen, we should be looking to keep a clean sheet against Palace as their attacks are not that good. Want to see Llori's having a error-free game in goal. He has been a bit shakey in recent matches. Hope he will be back to his best in this match.

Hope we can get a good performance and a big win in this match. Being at home, I think anything apart from a win will be unacceptable.
