*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur VS Colchester United ***

Well done to the team for winning and progressing to the Round 5 Of FA Cup. It is great to be in Round 5 for the first time since 2012. Happy with the big win but we should have killed the game off much earlier. For all our domination and chances, we still lacked the killer instinct in front of goal. It is not surprising that we had 27 shots on goal against a very poor Colchester team who had been in shyte form and had 2 of their players replaced so early due to injury. But disappointingly we only had 8 shots on target. We even almost let Colchester come back into the game due to some silly errors by Carroll and Bentaleb.

Credit to Chadli, Dier and Carroll for getting the goals. It is great to see Chadli continuing his great recent form. Now he has 4 goals and 2 assists in 3 matches. Hope he can continue his form on a longer term. His first goal was brilliant long range goal just like the one he scored against Palace. Credit to Lamela who assisted the goal for Chadli with a great inch perfect pass. Dier's second goal for us had a element of luck as it was deflected into goal. But it was a crucial time to score our second as Colchester were coming back into the match then. It is great to see us scoring long range goals like that instead of trying to dribble the ball into the net all the time. Chadli did well to score our third with a good header after a good cross by Trippier. Chadli even created our 4th goal for Carroll who tapped into goal. In fact, Chadli should have scored the hattrick as he also hit the post from close range. Lamela was unlucky not to score as his shot hit the post in the 1st half while he also should have done better with the chance early in the 2nd half. Kane too should have done better with the header in the 2nd half.

Despite the big win, was not not very convinced with our midfield of Carroll and Bentaleb. They were trying their best to help Colchester come back into the back into the game with some stupid mistakes. Carroll gave away the ball 4 or 5 times in the first half and put our goal in danger in the process. But he did improve in the 2nd half and scored our 4th goal. Similiarly, Bentaleb's stupid back pass to Dier created the chance for Colchester who hit the post when the score was 2-0. If they had scored, it would have put us under undue pressure. This is why I am still not convinced of Carroll and Bentaleb as they make too many mistakes. Hope we will never play both together in midfield again as they are too error-prone.

Our defence have to be disappointed with the goal Colchester scored. We should have defended much better for that goal. It maybe via a deflected own goal by Davies but they should not have that chance in the firsr place. Disappointingly, this is the second consecutive match we have scored the own goal after Vertonghen's goal against Palace. Our defence needs to be more alert as goals like these could put us under pressure in the league. Fortunately for us, Colchester were so poor and didn't not give much trouble to us.

It is nice to progress in the FA Cup. But we need to play much better if we want to go all the way to win it. Also, it is great to win our 4th consecutive match for the first time this season, even if 2 of them are in the FA Cup. Hope we will go on a very long winning run to win a trophy or two this season !

fudge me it was cold in the away end yesterday

What was the atmosphere like?

What side were you? We were to the left of the goal and it was quite nice in the sun with a bit of a chill but could feel the cold when leaving back to the park and ride.

Atmosphere was a bit like the game...friendly/ testimonial like. It was OK in spurts but nothing much to get too excited about...it was just a bit too easy.

I was second row a couple of seats in from the right - wind whipping in from the motorway, horrendous
