[[OMGT - Tottenham vs QPR]]

We have 1 possibility and that is Leandro. If we don't get him this January then we're not getting a striker imo.

If out of ALL the players in the world, we are saying we are pinning our hopes on one player or nothing, then we realy are clueless.

Maybe, like me, he was disappointed in being taken off.?

I still think he was the one to unlock that defence

Agreed, wouldn't have been my sub that's for sure...he looked disappointed as that 10 mins prior he'd got inside the box several times and I think there was something brewing...

Its becoming alarming the amount of chances we are not converting. Tbh its not even the amount, its the importance of them, top teams score when they need to. I suspect had ade have scored early on it would have been quite an easy walkover. Whats more annoying is that we have known we need a finisher or decent striker since Berba left.... words fail me sometimes.

Spurs have had 274 goalscoring opportunities so far this season (the highest number of any team in the Premier League), yet we've only scored from 39 of them, giving us a conversion ratio of only 14.2%.

There are only six clubs with a worse goalscoring ratio than Spurs...

I think matches at Loftus Road are an anomaly as the pitch is usually awful and the space seems so ridiculously tight. The early goal was vital. Had JD's corker gone in, we'd have won by 3 or 4. But when they put 10 men deep behind the ball on that brickhawk of a pitch, it's tough to play fluid, passing football. The transitions were the main moments to capitalize, and in those moments we weren't quite quick enough/able to play slick passing football on that 'pitch'...

Today was just one of those games. Whilst we're doing well this season, in games like this we really need a plan B. Today I really missed VDV, a player capable of playing the killer pass.

Also I personally think M'bia was MOTM, he was excellent for them, really got in the face of Dembele in particular and didnt allow him to dictate the game too much.

Now im certainly not saying the past was perfect by any means, but I remember times when we REALY needed a goal in games and we would have poachers / plan B's to come off the bench like Keane, Crouch and Pav.

We simply must have buy a goalscorer in the Jan window. Of not, the season could easily fritter away. Goals win games, goals get you 3 points.

I think Mbia was lucky to escape action from the ref a fair few times. I find it a joke that Dembele was booked for his challenge when Mbia was grabbing Dembele every time. He did play well though. Only person I've seen battle Sandro and Dembele and almost come out on top

Agree with all of this. Funny really. Bale gets booked for 'diving' but I see refs don't book players for quintuple rolling! TVF I thought probert was actually not bad overall and is one of the better refs out there...

A decent point. I'm glad that Daws played, so well done AVB on that. I wanted Dempsey to play and he picked Ade. Not good AVB, I think you got that wrong, IMHO.

Rangers were a disgrace to football, playing for a draw at home, but hey nothing new. Very few teams come out to give us a game of football. Utd will tho, should be a proper game.

We lost 1-0 at QPR last season, I assume at least one of our creative players. I didn't see the game so can't remember. We haven't won there since 1995, so quite a few of our creative players have failed to inspire wins there at a guess.

It would have been great to have a Modric or VDV out there, but might not have won the game for us.

but there was contact? it wash't a foul by Lloris and the replays actually show it was actually Mbia who committed the foul but the ref can't book him for rolling `around if there is indeed contact.

Taarabt on the other hand should have been booked for a clear dive.

The Rat showed himself today. Amazing skill but alas, not the sense to use it. Reminded me of people I play against sometimes, you know, those kids who feel they're only 'any good' if they hold onto the ball, do a trick, beat three people and...lose it.

RE: Mbia, not sure. He committed the foul as you said, and then looked to me to try and get the decision with an absurd quadruple roll. Albeit with a piece of absurdist theatre. I would've liked to see him booked, especially as he was up and on his feet a minute later bounding into another borderline barge!

but it would set a dangerous precedent. You can't book players for suspected exaggerations in their 'injuries' when their was a collision of players. What if he was really injured (he wasn't i know but what if). Let him roll around all he wants...he didn't get the decision and tbh he didn't dive either.

Taarabt was poor today i thought. He was acting like an annoying ball hog that didn't want to pass the ball. I rate him though and his work rate today was excellent (that's usually what lets him down at times).

Pretty much confirms what most of us have noticed this season (well ever since Berbatov left really) that despite having one of the best midfield quartets in the league our forwards just aren't clinical enough and it is the acquisition of a truly top notch centre forward like an RvP / Rooney / Aguero which prevents us from narrowing the gap on the top 2.

Really disappointed with the result. This was a chance for us to consolidate 3rd place but we wasted it, as always. Now we have gave back the advantage to Chelsea for the race for 3rd place. Until this match we were the only team to have scored in every away match this season. But annoyingly we failed to score for the first time, no thanks to Adebayor for wasting yet another one-on-one chance ! Also, disappontingly felt like a few players didn't give their best in this match. Fortunately for us, QPR didn't make use of the few chances they got.

This match showed yet again how we lack quality to unlock defensive minded teams. We still need a player who could make the difference in tight matches like this. That player should provide us the cutting edge to open up teams who only concentrate on defence. Don't think we have that sort of player now. Dembele should have done just that but he had a bad game, especially after Sandro went off injured. I think we were affected without Sandro as he is better at helping our attacks than Parker. Without any service, Bale and Lennon couldn't do anything. Also felt like a few players including Bale was not at their best in this match. Perhaps they were still feeling sorry for Redknapp ?

It is not surprising when Adebayor wastes those one-on-one chances anymore. He is so clumsy when it comes to taking that chances as he has shown yet again. Wish that chance came to Dempsey instead. Defoe forced a good save from the goalie with that great shot. But Adebayor not only was too slow to react but too clumsy yet again. That was our best chance to score in this match as we didn't get many chances after that. You can't afford to miss chances like that in tight matches. Thought Dempsey will come on and get us the goal but he didn't get any chance for that.

Despite the result, have to be happy about our defending as we kept the clean sheet. QPR didn't have many chances but our defence did well to stop them, especially Dawson. It was an important block by Dawson to stop SWP from scoring. Lloris did well to clear a few other dangerous situations as well. Walker and Naughton are still looking shaky at times but as long as we stop others from scoring, we should be happy.

Despite the result, one positive thing is we have extended our unbeaten run to 6 matches in the league. Just wish we had managed to score and win ! It would have been nice for AVB to beat Redknapp and prove a thing or two to the media. It would have helped us strengthen our position in top 4 race. Now we have to hope for favours from others teams.

So far over this weekend out of our main challengers we've done better than Everton and Liverpool and worse than Chelsea, so it looks a decent result so far. If Arsenal draw at home to City I'd say that was about the same level of result.

I laughed at that. While people, and on here, harp on about Bales 'simulation' Mbia's was proper SIMULATION. It was pure simulation. I hope people can see the difference between Bales, evading tackles, and Mbias, simulation.
