North London is R's

The peculiar mutation of "ours" into "R's" that seems to have occurred in the ground, that makes it sound as though claim is being laid by 30000 Inspector Morses. Perhaps it's just me. I don't think so though, because I've seen people writing 'are' instead of 'our' on here as well (as in the Fall's Are You Are Missing Winner?) It grates on my ear, that's all, a bit like if people suddenly started singing, 'Glury, glury, Tottenhim Hatspur' all around me. Don't worry about it, though.

It's just how it's pronounced by people from the south in general. When singing it it will sound more like 'r's' than 'ours or hours even.

fixed

the bastardisation of the English language by our woeful education system in the last decade is a disgrace, I work with a few people in their twenties who can barely string a correct sentence together

I don't doubt you do in fact I happen to think that kids nowadays are generally thick as brick. I wouldn't employ 9 tengths of the idiots my comp any employs.

However, when fans are singing this song it's simply how it will come across. I'm saying 'ours' and singing it in context with the song title of the thread and it does sound different.
