Are you saying that our club was building for the future under " rent a quote", he was a quick fix man and thought no further then the next few games.

Good luck, dolphin! Scored quite a few good and important goals for us, esp vs chelski and le scum, and never moaned about sitting on the bench. Just don't score against us, and you'll go down as a fond memory!

Nope, no idea how or where you've birthed that from.
I was saying we under invested and failed to kick on following Champions League qualification in 2010. I fear we look to be doing the same again this time, now we've finally qualified once more.

If you look closely you can see the huge sacks of cash from the the TV deal, sitting there not buying a player.

They are not sitting there, they are waiting to be collected to pay for Lewis' new yacht.

Building a stadium is building for the future which is what you said we weren't doing. In the long term it will help us on the pitch and in the meantime we have the pain of having to put up with one of the best first teams we have seen in a generation and the squad places being filled with promising homegrown players and young talent picked up from elsewhere.

We haven't lost any first choice players this summer and most of the squad players that we have sold came in for considerable criticism on here when they did play. Strangely, now they are leaving, they have suddenly become world beaters.

We have a manager who prefers to work with small squads, with young players who buy into his methods and does not tolerate dissension. We have what appears to be our most united first team in the modern game, we hear none of the gossip and complaints that we have had in the past and the fight on the pitch is obvious for all to see. If the manager thinks that the players coming through are better than the ones that we are letting go and that he can use the funds to further strengthen the squad, I think that we should trust him.

You forgot to mention the trophys won for finishing among the losers ( top four) a couple of times.

I am a fully paid up member of the 'In Poch we trust' rude boys, yet can't help feeling like there is the possibility of falling significantly behind other teams this year. Leicester kept all but one of their key players and have added more and are about to add even more. And they are decent players too. As we get to the end of the window it is a challenge to see all this cash being spunked by our 'rivals' and having to trust in Winks. Carroll, Carter-Vickers etc. as back ups to our main 14/15 players.

I've made that joke myself a couple of times over the last week. The joke being that our owners aren't taking any money out of the club and we are currently undertaking a massive construction project without burdening the club with debt.

Everyone said the same about Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea... last summer. Let's see where we end up.

We will have to see where we end up. However, this year Manure and Cheat$ki have new head coaches and Klopp has had the chance to make the squad 'his own'. Even Whinger has bought players and yet we have not yet finalized the signing of that geezer from Marseille, who as far as anyone can tell is holed up in a Holiday Inn near Brent Cross, like a footballing Julian Assange.

Nah mate, you've just misread my original post and attached a load on preconceptions from the ' levy out ' rude boys to me.

All I said was we didn't build on CL qualification in 2010. (Check my post). I've not mentioned what building a stadium is, or isn't. (You just slapped a building site picture up, by way of some form of dismissal!)

So, to be crystal clear - in 2010 we didn't push on. We went into 3 more rebuilds, lost our better players, and took 6 years to qualify again. I would have hoped we would have been investing better on the field, to push on this window, alas it looks to be like we're not.

To further qualify - the scope of this position does not include any thoughts on stadium, managers, or chairmen. (Although I'm in the 'generally pretty good' camp on all - FWIW)

Hope that clears up the misunderstanding. I haven't responded to the individual points, as that would just distract even further from what my original point was and fan the flames of things I wasn't even considering.
