if you are just downloading music i would say that its not really worth getting a fileserve account - they don't seem to be any faster than when using for free - only bonus is parallel downloads - but most music files are are only one link
also Soundcloud is good if you are after dance music - loads of sets from every DJ imaginable on there (get yourself Internet Download Manager to rip those that aren't available for download)

i use utorrent and generally music is from btjunkie and films from extratorrent
