Fair point, probably a poor choice of words on my part! I think he deserves a lot of praise for his goal - excellent run, and beautiful finish. But apart from the goal I didn't think his performance was that different from usual, and I thought Hojbjerg (for example) had a better game than him overall - so much more involved, in terms of passing and winning possession back. But we might just have to agree to disagree on that. Either way I did love his MOTM acceptance speech - very endearing :D

He played well last night for sure and took his goal well, he is a important player in our squad and long may he be so.

If long means until this summer I'm in 400% agreement.

I think we'll keep him for one more year and look to move him on in Summer 2022.

I suppose it depends on who/what our targets in the market will be. At the moment he is worth his place .

I recall he did a dribble into their box as well; quite a rarity, does anyone have a clip of it? @SteveAWOL

Was that when he crossed for Son's half-volley that went just wide?

I think both that and Serge’s chance came from them winning the ball back in the box from an under hit pass!

I still expect Son to score every time I see the replay of that cross!

He'll be here next season, still at a high level of fitness and well estbalished within the squad and capable of playing a few positions/roles - we'd be silly to sell.

May come down to player, he's into his 30's we don't really give long term contracts to older players.

For now, he's an important part of the squad, but it is an area of the squad I expect we will be targeting improvement for.

Popular presence amongst his team mates and they, ultimately, are the ones who will decide if he stays on or not. Reguilon didn't hesitate for an instant when he spotted Sissoko's run for the goal. On the other hand, we often see some players - and not just with Spurs - get into a good space and never receive the ball because team mates don't trust them. That can lead to frustrations and friction in training. That's when players decide if they want someone to stick around.

Everything we see about this Spurs team confirms Sissoko is valued, appreciated and respected by his team mates. Look at the reactions when he scores. As Barry Davies would famously put it; 'Oh, look at their faces, just look at their faces!'

So you think the opinion of da playas and Jose carries more weight than the opinion of @scaramanga ? If so, that's outrageous and shows how our society has lost any semblance of reality.

Crap this evening. Mind you its Jose's fault for playing him right wing.

"bergwin is out....I know, the closest like for like replacement which we have is....Sissoko?" What was he thinking?

Playing Sissoko RW is a defensive move to counter a LWB. We didnt need that tonight

Just as I want to focus on some kind of positive....or a least speak out in someone's defence moreso:

Moussa isn't a right winger, or at least, isn't the kind of right winger Spurs want or need right now.

Anyone slagging him off as a player here or being in disbelief of him being in the starting XI...I legit am more concerned if he has been told to be closer to goal than Kane / Son so it's more about the instructions rather than the player himself imo. Like another player who gets a lot of stick for not being absolutely amazing at everything, Winks is another who gets a nosebleed in the opposition's half so we shouldn't either of them in positions where they'll see a lot of the ball.

    Winks had a great shot
He also passed the ball forward to our players... not sideways or backwards
    Just saying
The game wasn’t lost in CM
It was lost again from our right hand side and a cross

Sissoko put in another honest days work, nothing came off offensively but he made every run he had to make and never hid from the ball.

Shouldn't he be doing more defensively for their equaliser?

He's just standing there leaving Sanches and Aurier two against two down that flank with no cover and one of our centre backs out of position.

He made 35 passes over the whole game (74% success)
Tanguy plays less time and made 37 (81% success)
Winks played less and made 62 (84% success)
I don’t think he ever hides. That’s not a criticism of him if ever agree with. The issue is when he gets it it’s like a grenade and he has to get rid so quickly
That fun he made right at the beginning of the second half was great.. abs he showed his power there when he went 40/60 with the defender to win it when the defender was IMO the favourite. But when he got into the area he delayed his shot just enough for the defender to do a brilliant block. That’s sissoko in a nutshell

as I’ve said for me, against quality sides he has a place. Against weaker sides his place is sat next to Moura on the bench
