He'd spend more time suspended and upset the dressing room

“I understand Mourinho will sign a deal for the remainder of this season and for another three years, with a net salary of £17million per year.”

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon in a guest column for the i newspaper.

Even in his first spell where everyone was going on about how funny and charming he was I mostly thought he was a mean clam.

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho missed out on a return to Real Madrid because senior players at the club did not want the Portuguese in charge. (Mail)

As much as I think Zidane has a plan for them I do think it sets a dangerous precedent when dressing rooms pick their manager and seems to becoming more prevalent (United, Chelsea, Leicester all very recently for example.)

    Absolutely.

Problem is though, particularly at clubs like that, the players are more secure, and make more money than the manager.

    Its a sad state really.

    We are talking Real here.
They are unique and not mostly in a good way.
