I was never completely convinced, but 2nd GK is the hardest spot in the squad to fill. Hopefully he goes on and has a couple of 40 game seasons and finds his Swansea form again.

I hope we promote Whiteman too, rather than buying in a new 3rd GK.

I liked him, thought he was an astute buy and think he did a good job.

I think Gazzaniga has clearly surpassed him and so its right that we let him go - we dont need 3 senior GKs.

And it frees up a foreign player squad place as well, Janssen will be pleased!

To be honest, his most important job was stopping Lloris getting bored during training, so I guess that went well seeing as they've been working together 5 years.

Very under appreciated player here imho.

    Good luck, and thanks

He was a decent understudy for most of his time with us. Gazzaniga has clearly eclipsed him this season and he's been little more than a cheerleader since but it looks like he's been a popular member of the squad. Let's hope that he goes somewhere where he can play a bit before he retires.

You know the players who were part of the Spurs family because the "goodbye" note says "We wish him the best for the future". So thank you Michel, tough job being a number 2, but clearly you fulfilled the role really well, best of luck...

During his time here he always did a good job when he came in. Good luck to him.

ALL keepers make mistakes, i even saw Pat make a few and he was the best we have ever had.

But 6 or 7 in his 40 appearances is quite high

As we're being picky how many minutes per mistake? And how many shots stopped? And distance covered? And litres of hair gel used?

What if we count the goals that should've been scored but he prevented?
Keepers make mistakes all the time, it's not like he pulled a Karius. He was a complete professional his whole time here, he deserves the best in his future.

    I’m with you on this.

I don’t think he did that well.

Granted it’s not an easy position to fill

I wonder whether he regrets leaving Swansea, or regrets joining us. Granted he probably made a few quid but he’s spent 5 of his prime years playing bugger all football

I think he was warming Swansea's bench when he left.

I always wondered this. He played 30 games for Swansea in his last season there and picked up 5 Dutch caps to come to us - maybe the money, London and the relatively less pressure and scrutiny of being a number 2 was the appeal. Interested to see if he goes on to be a number 1 at a lower level somewhere else.
