He is a beast in FM14 probably the best defender in the game, is that where you scouted him?

Admittedly never seen him play, but he's been linked with a 6m move to valencia and been linked with Barcelona too. Might be worth a gamble.

I wonder if, as far as this deal is concerned, it's a good thing that Dier played well at the weekend.

We can tell Villarreal that we don't need Musacchio desperately, but that we want to sign him. Maybe that will help keep the price down as we can tell them that Dier has demonstrated that he can be relief upon.

I don't think so.

Villarreal don't want to sell Musacchio at all. They'd be delighted if we told them that we weren't so desperate for him after all!

The only things that will make this deal happen are:

a) Spurs agreeing to pay far more than they want to pay. Fat chance!
b) Villarreal coming to an agreement with River Plate and Musacchio's agent to reduce their share of the transfer fee. Possible.
c) A compromise involving both a) and b). Also possible.
d) Musacchio playing up something rotten. He's been well behaved this far.
e) Villareal signing a player or two who they think will more than compensate for the loss of Musacchio. They've already signed one central defender and some reports that they are after another.

Quotes from the manager and other Villarreal players suggest that it's still uncertain. All saying that they hope that he stays but they don't know whether or not he actually will.

Had an interesting conversation yesterday with someone who has a far better grasp of what is going on in respect of both of these deals than the sports pages of the newspapers.

With Musacchio the situation is far more complex, because of the split ownership issue. But this is something that has so far been reported erroneously. The story that River Plate own 35% of Matteo is fundamentally untrue. That figure was invented, and you have to ask yourself if the fact that the Football Manager quotes the same arrangement, is merely a coincidence.
I understand that it is Musacchio’s agent Marcelo Lombilla (quelle surprise) that is the problem. He is said to have a whopping 80% stake in the Argentine. So both River Plate and Villareal are going to end up with shares in any sale that will just about buy them a fish supper each.
And here is the fun bit. I’m told that it was Lombilla that lent Villarreal money in order to make Musacchio’s move from River Plate happen.
So in conclusion, the Morgan Schneiderlin deal is reliant upon Spurs finding £20million and some space on the wage bill.
The Musacchio deal is reliant upon an act of GHod the player’s agent, and the two clubs involved reaching a decision that is amicable to 3 parties.

The likes of Joorabchian is the reason why 3rd party ownership is no longer allowed in England. In South America the agent scum and regular scum still rule.

Sure but joorabchian called the shots, when it came to selling the players. If it were west ham both would still be playing for them now.
