Big difference between parody and racism.
The events in cricket of clearly racist language is not the same as a picture of traditional dress, a fictional creature the Scots use for tourism (Nessy that is, not religion), a national dish and the world's best biscuit/cake.
What in there is derogatory? The image isn't making fun of any of contents; it's making of the quality of Scottish football when compared to the EPL.
It's possible I don't understand the context of some of the inclusions.

As i said, original post was slightly tongue in cheek, but i'm not comfortable with the portrayal of the unsavoury religious elements.
I, and i'm not alone, abhor the despicable culture around certain elements of bigotry that swirls around Scottish football, and by extension Scotland.
It touches a nerve when i see generalising like this, we are not all hate filled bigots.
I can and do see the funny side, but I think the timing is not the greatest.
Not his fault, caught up in events etc, but its a fine line between casual racism (although bigotry is a better choice than racism) and parody.

What do you mean by the "portrayal of the unsavoury religious elements"? All I see is the pope kicking a haggis - not sure that's unsavoury?
That said, you can't seperate Religious hatred and bigotry from Scottish football - uncomfortable or not, it exists in the Scottish League.
The Scots are not all hate filed bigots, I agree. But the cartoon isn't about the Scottish, it's about the Scottish League - which does include hate filed bigotry, often (certainly from a publicity point of view) is linked to religion (well, according to the perpetrators - whether it's actually religious is a different conversation).
But I still don't see this in the image. I see a link with Catholicism, but the Pope isn't attacking anyone in the image - he is just playing football with the Queen.
I will admit I don't understand what the guy behind the Pope is supposed to represent. Perhaps that is a bit of key missing information for me?
