Manager Sack Watch 2014/15

West Bromwich Albion has offered Tim Sherwood the job as manager, according to a World Soccer Talk source.

While Sherwood is interested in the opportunity after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, a stumbling block that may prevent a deal is the report that Sherwood wants to bring Les Ferdinand to the club as a coach. Albion hasn’t made a decision whether or not they want Ferdinand as part of the deal.

If Sherwood is appointed manager at The Hawthorns, he’ll replace Pepe Mel who was sacked at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, West Brom rejected an undisclosed offer today from Derby for George Thorne, and have made it clear that none of their players are for sale.

“We are not looking to sell anyone,” said WBA Technical Director Terry Burton. “Our only aim is to strengthen our squad this summer – not weaken it.”

Albion delighted to announce Alan Irvine will be appointed as their new Head Coach. He has agreed a 12-month rolling contract

Who the hell is he?

Hardly one to set the world on fire, might work I guess. Thursday nights, ITV4 for Tim for a bit longer then.

From Wiki

On 14th June 2014 West Bromwich Albion announced that Irvine would fill their vacant Head Coach role. Why? I don't know.

Sherwood probably demanded control of transfers at WBrom......no chance, its all done by committee there

Poor choice if you ask me. Gotten a lot of top jobs due to his playing career (much like Laudrup), but just not a very good coach.

Laudrup and top jobs? Like where, Getafe? Swansea?Brondby? Mallorca? I know what you mean about him not being a very good coach on the training field, that's the rumour, but to say he has got top jobs because of his playing career is a bit wrong IMO

Getting jobs at clubs in big leagues without having done anything as a coach then. Both of them seems to get bored quickly, moving clubs a lot.
