Agree. Lowest budget or something in the Championship promotion year and meagre funding in the EPL.

Would imagine he will re-surface in a top 6 Bundesliga club in the summer.

It seems like he pulled the plug himself and Huddersfield have acknowledged what he’s fine for them, which is reassuring as it would have been disappointing for him to have got fired. I’m not sure who they’ll get as the usual relegation fighters can see what a difficult situation it would be to get them back up let alone keep them up.
If they are planning for the championship already I’d put a cheeky bid in for Billing and chuck in GNK and Vinny as free gifts.

I actually thought Huddersfields statement was brilliant. Very genuine and heartfelt.

Wagner has done a good job, itll be interesting to see where next for him.

He got them up prematurely, and ultimately paid the price. Though it sounds like it took a lot out of him.

If Huddersfield go down, as expected, they will end up much better off than before Wagner went in there.

In other news Forrest have gone for Martin ONeill. FFS. He was brick even at his peak, are they really so stupid as to think a sentimental appointment is the smart move?

O'Neill blew them away in his interview apparently. The other options were Jokanovic, who is taking a break from football, and Carvalhal.

He did well at Leicester and Celtic to be fair. And you could make a case for Villa although he spent a tonne of money.

With Ireland, you really wouldn't believe how bad the football became under him. He made AVB look like Ossie Ardiles in the style stakes.

I think he was phenomenal at his peak, but that was decades ago

I cant believe they even let him through the door.

I think his best achievements were with Leicester. And ultimately they were try hards/plucky under dogs.

Celtic, well if you dont win the league there you really are brick, arent you? I dont see it as a measure of quality work.

Villas current predicaments started with him. I think he did a crappy job in all honesty.

    Sunderland, ROI...

Meh. I dont think he was ever that good, and his glory days are long gone.

That being said, I also thought Hodgson was passed it and he has done very well so far...

Look, can happen to any of us. So much stress in life nowadays and pressure to perform.

Maybe he was just tired, or distracted even.

Why not look at this piece of “Adult Art Literature” for ten minutes, then maybe we could try again?...

Huddersfield have appointed Jan Siewert to succeed David Wagner as manager.

Siewert, 36, has left his position as coach of Borussia Dortmund's second team, a role Wagner also held before joining Huddersfield in 2015.

Wagner left the Terriers by mutual consent on 14 January.

Huddersfield are bottom of the Premier League on 11 points - 10 adrift of safety - with 15 games remaining. Siewert's first game in charge will be at home to Everton on 29 January.

Mark Hudson took temporary charge for Sunday's defeat by Emirates Marketing Project.

Interesting that Siewert would make the move with the club in such a position. He must have had encouragement from Wagner.

They thought Jan Siewert was in the crowd yesterday. But it wasn't. Just someone who looked like him.
