Joe Rodon

Its a dereliction of duty to continue picking eric dier.

Nothing against the lad but he has regressed to an incredible degree since his medical issues.

Was once an outstanding DM and now he’s unable to play in that role effectively and is at best a championship level CB.

Happened to come across Sky showing highlights of The Battle of the Bridge a week or two ago. Watching the Dier of then, he was a completely different player: agile, quick, fit, intelligent play - as opposed to the indecisive, lumbering lump we have now.

We need to offload this guy as soon as possible.

Having Dier and Davies not qualifying as homegrown for Europe was a mistake.

Bringing in two more in Rodon and Doherty that don't qualify as homegrown shows Hitchen's incompetence.

It effects the rest of the squad make up.

Because of these 4 we can only have another 13 non homegrown players.

Think you have that the wrong way around, we need to offload the others, not Rodon.
He's young and will improve, the others, they're in decline. Add to that the likes of
Lamela, Sissoko and it's pretty obvious that it's not him that needs to be binned to
make way for more non-homegrown players.

Still trying to work out why Hitchen is getting blamed for all that is wrong with Transfers? Its as if the manager does not have any say in the transfers.

That was when he was playing in CM and (imo) is where he is at his best.

Poor judgement from Mason. Needs to look past reputation and actually what's been happening on the pitch.

The post implies Diers performances in the final and the game previous are what earned him his run in the team, which makes perfect sense.

Be interesting if it changes after the Leeds performance

To deflect from the man who is ultimately in control. Daniel Levy.

yeah offloading dier and davies is a more compelling argument. and the sicknote argies too.

Yes, agreed, and I think we should be able to still get a decent fee for Dier, perhaps £20m
Davies we might get £10-£15m for, and we can go with Sessegnon and Regi at LB next year as long as the rest of te back 4 are competent
And Villareal will probably take up their £13m option for Foyth
plus Aurier seems to be on his way

It feels like we should be able to reshape our defence considerably this summer with the above, and using the proceeds for a CB and RB

Rodon should being getting the games right now, the experience he gets the better adapted to starting first team games he will be. There's no logic in playing Dier, he's not the better defender for all his experience he plays like an youth team CB and we have pretty much nothing to play for.

Said it in the match thread, only possible view is Mason is going for a "devil you know" approach, hence clearly "limited" players like Dier, Winks, Sissoko seeing game time over Rodon, Lucas, Ndombele.
