    She is
The people with the money aren’t though
They could have done this without her which is something I don’t get

Because this is her project, she does not have the money to do it alone, this is her leading the ship.

I honestly dont believe this is the top guy pushing this like everyone is saying, they were haggling over 50m for 4 years, this has been going since 2017.

    It won’t be competitive
Teams will bro be able to compete as this creates a cost bump

city and Newcastle have no issues with that

pool are trying to run in a sustainable way… no chance of that working against the oil money
    United… shambles financially really
Chelsea… I’m still not convinced Roman will subsidise things long term.
Arsenal… like us in the same boat but their owners may put some money in, but never enough to really compete

Yeh but thats the point, its not his passion project, its hers, like I say she did a tour of the Middle East to fund this and looks like he is backing her. This is not like City where it was them wanting to control it, she is an expert in crowd funding, thats what this it essentially

What chances are that Newcastle get relegated this year, what with them not being great, having a great manager and already being near the bottom?
Yes, Dr Tottenham is close by, but i wouldn't be surprised that a lot of teams put in even more effort against the team in games from now....

It would be great wouldn’t it? Magpiey even!

They’ll get rid of Bruce soon enough and splash the cash in Jan regardless, so unfortunately I can’t see them being in trouble come May.

On paper yes, but who would go and manage there atm? Money talks but only so much imo.
Emirates Marketing Project, for example, were in much better shape when they were bought by that ex-Thai PM so it was much easier to put more building blocks on them at that time..Newcastle are near-bottom and look like fodder...

I guess, a bit of creative loans could work, but still..

Newcastle make about 6m from shirt sponsorship this year. My guess is that will magically become 50-100m next year, from Aramco or Saudi Airlines or something.

I don’t think it would take much for them to avoid relegation this season. These guys can easily drop 100m at it in Jan and get them safe. They won’t be signing Messi in Jan but I reckon they’d be able to pick up the De Jong / Lescott type signings that City made at the outset.

Yeah, you're probably right tbh... no harm in dreaming eh.

Firstly, a Kane hat-trick after the international break for a 4-nil win would do for now..

You do all realise they are in Everton's position and not Emirates Marketing Project's right?

Ever since the Premier League introduced their Profit and Sustainability rules no one can do a Emirates Marketing Project.

This is frequently refered to as Financial Fair Play. That is a UEFA thing. This is a Premier League thing. This is the rules the 209 clubs have come up with themselves.
No club has ever spent more than the Profit and Sustainability rules allows.

The ladder has been pulled up.

Under the rules a team is allowed to make a loss of £105m over any 3 seasons.

So say they want to buy an Ndombele. That's £60m amortised over a 5 year contract. Plus £10m a season on his wages.

Over 3 years in the accounts that one player gives a loss of £66m.

This is why Everton despite unlimited funds by their owners had to cut back on their spending this season. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...l-fair-play-killed-everton-in-transfer-window

    Indeed.
They'll have to increase their income to seem compliant.
New sponsorship deals arriving to justify greater outlays.

Here you go, you can spend £350m on transfers and you will now earn £15m a season basic
There will be a huge queue, people only care about ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

Hadn’t quite realised that. Thank you. Which makes whoring themselves to murderous despots all the more tragic.
