Not just recovery work either by the looks of things. Still plenty of time until the final. Even just having him on the bench would be good, but I would be very happy if he could start.

Yes the same Dier who failed to hit the ball on target in the shootout against Chelsea.

Not full training by the look of it, he’s in the Trippier and Llorente group to help him build some confidence.

Thought he played well last night. Took responsibility in dangerous areas and always showed for the ball.

Best of our midfielders yesterday and a pity he wasn’t able to last the full 90 as we could’ve done with his vision at the end.

Hopefully the surgery does the trick and he’ll have an injury free season after summer break.

Solid play by him yesterday. Felt gutted that he left the pitch early.

I can only assume it was a lack of fitness that required the sub. He was the stand out player on that pitch last night by a margin.

Yup, I’m sure if the physio team deemed Winks capable of lasting 90 minutes then Dele would’ve been the one hooked for Moura.

Perhaps it was just tired legs and Winks would’ve done the same but when Eriksen let Mane past him so easily in the leadup to their 2nd it just highlighted the paucity of CMF options this season; what with Dier’s appendicitis and Skipp not impressing Pochettino with his cameos.

Love the guy. Did not look out of place at all, was either my MOTM or at worst second best player for us.

Hope he has an injury free season next season, hopefully alongside a new partner as well (I'd still like Sissoko in the squad).

Played very well, I thought he might get overwhelmed in a packed midfield coming back from injury but he handled himself very well.

He ran the fudging game. Brilliant showing, such a shame he wasn't quite ready for the entire 90.

Made a mockery of Southgate not picking him in the England squad, as expected.

Best English midfielder by an absolute country mile, he plays a different game to the rest of them.

Glad he's not picked, we could do with a few others dropping out.

Winksy deserves a good rest. I do wonder how Poch will use him next year if we do get the midfield targets we are after.

I’d be building our midfield around him to be honest.

I really didn’t notice him at all yesterday!

Just goes to show, the dangers of watching football in a busy pub with a projector screen at a distance and the commentary drown out by pub noise!
