Harry Kane MBE

He seemed to be so excited when they were doing the national anthems like a kid at Christmas. The likes of Neymar, Messi etc just look as if they were thinking “just another final”.

I personally think he got too much praise and that the little bit of magic he produced was over hyped. Yes he is only 19 and he is a very very good players but in the semi final he went lonng periods without touching the ball yet they were talking as if he dominated the game.
It's all about what you can do to affect the result within the space of afew seconds that counts at the highest level.

Jimmy Greaves would go long periods in a game without touching the ball but still walk off at the final whistle having scored a hat-trick.

Hard criticism of Kane is ignorant. Could he have done better against Croatia with those chances? Yes. Did he sacrifice himself and often end up playing such a team role that he dropped deep for large tracts of matches to try and give Sterling and Lingard the space to explode and do their stuff? Yes. Would it have been more ideal for both him and Dele if they played together in the same shape/style they do for us? Yes. Could Southgate have got away with that? We will never know, but Southgate did exactly what he needed to do to get the best out of the whole squad, and that meant Kane and Alli playing team roles and often roles that are not their natural strengths...and still he got 6 goals...and golden boot...

Kane's 2017/18 final goals tally in all competitions including the World Cup seems to have gone under the radar somewhat, but it deserves to be celebrated.

Meh. So what... Spurs always have a home grown striker who is the best striker in the world. What's to get excited about?

So boring having grown Jimmy Greaves in our own back yard for free.... booooorrrrriiiiinnnnggggg!!!

Me either but the money piles on and that without any rumours before to prompt it.

Its a worry in some respects.

Agree, it is worrying.

But we won't deal on Toby, yet we'll sell Kane? (Not questionning you btw!)

Edit - actually that's wrong. We might deal on Toby for the right price. But I don't believe we'd let Kane go for any money, not now. He's our poster boy.

How is it worrying its just punters putting martial wanting to leave, Tottenhams new stadium needing money etc … if you doubt Harry wants to leave then where have you been over the last few years … the bookies are mopping it up.

Because I get one punter putting those together and coming up with crap but numerous punters from no public rumours are takign a serious put that odds go from 33/1 to in some places 3/1.

If there were rumours like when Bale went to Madrid and odds moved you would get it, but for this its more dodgy

I doubt it takes that much money for the odds to change dramatically. One person can skew the betting by lumping a few grand onto something mad. Perhaps that has a strange enough affect on other betting markets for them to clean up overall, or perhaps they have just been sold a pup. Or maybe it's worth it for a newspaper to put the money on and have the story ready to go.

Anyway, would be happy with £600m. Any youngster with more than one functioning leg could be drafted into the Spurs academy (covering half of Hertfordshire) aged six. In ten years time, we would own football.

True enough although the bookies said it was a serious of bets that just keep on coming
