Its a worry, having seen Kane close up on most occasions it is obvious that he struggles to do what he is good at when he first comes back from injury. To be honest it has happened each time he has been out with his ankles and its got to be more then coincidence, i hate to think that he has the final say on if he plays or not.

I can not believe that Poch allows Kane to decide when he plays but it has happened on a few occasions. Every player has poor games but Kane looks like he is running through glue on several occasions and a lot of that must be down to fitness ( imo).

One big difference between Kane and other top attackers like Messi, Ronaldo and Ham Salad is that they don’t risk getting clattered by putting in slide tackles whilst Modric is light on his feet whilst having the knack of avoiding such injurious situations.

Hence why Kane has spent almost as many days injured over the past 3 seasons as the other 4 you mentioned put together.

I don't think that it is down to who chooses or him being bought back too soon. I just think that he takes a month or so to get back in the rhythm and if we held back his return, we'd still have the same problem.

What we probably do need to be better at is resting him throughout the season. You are more likely to pick up an injury when you are tired.

I can agree that he may take a while to find his touch, but its his movement that shows he is not fit ( or that is what it looks like), he is a lot slower to react and seems to be running in glue, that is more fitness level then getting back into a rhythm.

Because it has been a constant throughout his career, I've taken it to be that he takes a while to get back in the rhythm. Could be wrong.

Not saying you are wrong mate ( its all about opinions), but imo rhythm and fitness are two different strengths.

Needless to say what ever the cause its needs looking at.

Pity the final didn't last a month or so then. During the season you can accept he needs minutes to get up to speed, although I still wish he was bought back as a sub first if we're winning matches without him, until he looks ready. What happened to Poch's meritocracy?

I honestly think having kane on the bench in the final could have been like when Chelsea had hazard on the bench vs us at Wembley... we knew they had a game changer sat there and it caused us concern

I honestly believe if Alli Eriksen and Son showed up Kane playing wouldnt be questioned and we would have won the game.

We were pretty brick for the majority of the games without him so it made playing him a little easier, if we steam rolled Everton and Bounemouth and had some of this rhythm going into the game i think there would have been a better argument.

A half match fit Kane can still turn a match. For all of Moura's heroics in the SF, over the season he was very inconsistent. I can understand why he made the decision he did.

I would have started Kane and Moura and put Alli on the bench.

400% agree on this point. He's picked up these injuries putting himself about and coming off worse for it. I like that he closes down the opposition, but as with the most recent injury he didn't need to be throwing himself into that challenge with Delph.

I would have started Janssen and Bassong and put them all on the bench

But Bassong is just back from suspension so would only be good for 15 minutes if needed.

    He turned the match alright.

A half confident Moura can score a hattrick. ;)
