Bit shattered at the moment so find myself at home on a Saturday night.

Something has struck me about the BBC and Glastonbury. Full of fcuking sad desperate losers who think their cool.

Hate bbc radio 1. Some of the young lads have it on at work. I am saddened that this is what the youth of today listen to.

I don't expect to like the music but the presenters I would like to kill.

What did you do at the weekend....

"I went to a music festival, it was great. Loads of really good bands."

    Vs

    "I went to Glastonbury"

I hate the new wave of presenters
Their the people that wear socks up their knees with sandles ... and complain about tan lines

The music is fine although a lot isn’t my cup of tea

Ran out of stuff people have heard of, I suspect. That's the problem with headliners who make music for people who don't like music - nobody knows your album tracks, only the singles. That's two nights in a row they've had awful, empty headliners who simply don't deserve to be there. I expect that to improve tonight.

On the other hand and the other stage, the Chemical Brothers put on a set worthy of any headliners on any stage. I don't really call pretending to hit buttons performing live and I'm not a massive fan of their music, but it was a headliner's set and a headliner's crowd.

I'm an occasional festival goer but I stay clear of Glastonbury. Too big and messy. Heading to Bilbao in a couple of weeks.

My thoughts are precisely the opposite. If Stormy spent half as much time trying to make an album as he does trying to make a point he might have had a set worth listening to

If any of his songs sounded different to the other it would be a start

I’ve heard some yoof comment on the cure today as headliners... had to let them know they sell out around the world whereas their hero’s just sell out to nike/Apple/delete product placement as appropriate

So much surprise and love for The Cure on Twitter currently, by ‘young’ people who had just no idea.

Seems they are captivated by how amazing and different things sound when live rock guitars, instruments, ability to play, songwriting and atmospherics are all combined.

Who’d have thought it eh kids!

The singer in my first band was into quite heavy and obscure rock so he bought that influence

In my last band there was again mostly heavier influences but you couldn’t hear that in the music

But when we jammed the lads all went as heavy as possible as quickly as the could because that’s what influenced them

Nowadays I cant work out what the new “acts” are influenced by other than cocaine and gangs it seems

Always quite liked The Cure and nothing more, but that set tonight - particularly the first 90 minutes - was incredible.

The Cure are incredible live. I was lucky enough to catch them 2 or 3 years ago. They usually do 3 hour sets too
