I wonder how many of our previous signings have hefty CL winner clauses, Levy thinking, well that will never happen!

May do but then I doubt it touches the revenue earned on the run to winning it etc. does need to be taken into account when people say we earned 100M so that means we have 100M extra for players.

Completely agree. Just look at Liverpool as an example. Identified the weak areas, moved to get swift, top drawer replacements, and yes they had to spend big, but it pushed them to serious title challengers and CL winners. We need similar swift, targeted action, this really is the time to do it.

on top of a way larger stadium then, they also had better player transfer revenue selling Suarez and Coutinho ... we might be comparable with them maybe three or four years from now and selling our top players to real ad barca.

You don't think we've got the cash to make say, two real statement signings? That might cost £120 million roughly? You don't think we'll have the cash for 3 or 4 years to do that? I'm not following. Apologies if i've misunderstood.

And the makeweight teammate proves to be the better signing!

I remember being over the moon with the Andy Reid deal and not bothered at all about Dawson. IIRC Dawson then put in a great performance at Anfield that had me reconsidering my views.

Naughton / Walker also, and look how that one turned out. Pretty sure it was put about that Naughton was the more highly rated of the two.....

Simon Davies was also an add-on to the main signing of Matthew Etherington

So, from the above we can conclude our scouting is a pile of brick!

Davies(x2), Dawson and Walker were all very good to excellant buys for us. The others we all got our money back on as well I believe?

If he continues to link up well with Messi like he did in the last game he will be going to Barcelona.
Nothing will happen here until after the Copa
