A lot of what you describe and what I’ve seen are essentially decision making issues. These decision making mistakes are pretty common for young defenders, especially at CB as it’s quite a difficult and specialist position that takes years to master.

With game time and experience in confident he’ll start to eliminate these kind of mistakes. And then when you couple that with his obvious footballing ability, I genuinely think we’re on to a winner.

I'm curious as to why none of the big 3 Spanish clubs are in for him. Especially considering they'd have seen him first hand at least twice.

Maybe because they have other targets or players they believe are better already

Passes, Forward Passes, Interceptions at a similar level.

Less passes into the final 3rd (not positioned as deep?), Less xA, Less Progressive Runs

More Xg, Dribbles, Duel Success, Progressive runs

So basically a very different style to Eriksen in that he is more of a runner/dribbler, a more combative player?

Atleti reportedly had a bid rejected a couple of weeks ago.

From what I’ve seen of his highlights and his stats I’d describe his as less creative but more attacking if that makes sense

I know what you mean, more direct - makes things happen that way rather than being the maestro kind of thing

Tottenham have ‘already’ agreed terms with player – Clubs have ‘mutual desire to reach agreement’

    By Naveen Ullal -

    11th July 2019

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Giovani Lo Celso in the summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, we carried a report from Estadio Deportivo, who explained there was a meeting between the officials of the two clubs in a well-known restaurant on Calle Betis, on the banks of the Guadalquivir River.

Estadio Deportivo once again relays the same information and claims the Champions League runners-up are the ‘main club’ interested in the 23-year-old, with whom Betis have been in talks with for several weeks for the Argentina international.

However, despite continuous phone calls since said meeting, common ground still hasn’t been found.

The La Liga side had initially slapped a €40m price in May and that has now increased to €70m, which ‘didn’t sit too well’ with Spurs.

Tottenham, on their part, are ‘tightening the thumbscrews’ on the transfer, as it’s claimed the Premier League side have ‘already’ reached agreement for a £150,000-a-week deal with Lo Celso.

The report states ‘despite the current differences, both clubs are obliged to get along, with the mutual desire to reach an agreement.’

Clearly there is a belief that two clubs can reach an agreement as Estadio Deportivo claims Lo Celso is likely to be Real Betis’ club record sale.

Surely this is just a matter of it being done when / if Eriksen is sold?? I’m fairly convinced of that being the real hold up.

Amazing how we are now casually offering £150K/wk to a new signing when only a couple of years ago no one on the team came even close to that number. What I don't understand, however, is why we are offering Lo Celso so much. That's triple what he is rumored to be currently making and shirley £100K/wk would have been just as enticing?

If there's any truth in it at all, it's probably taking into account what he might get if he maxes out on performance targets, bonuses etc.? Otherwise it does seem a hell of a lot, even for this new splash-the-cash Levy incarnation.
