General play

I read the article and he didn’t make a negative comment, purely a flippant one

He knows we’re a real threat and be also knows they are currently doing what they did last season. Difference being they have only played one top side in Chelsea who IMO were knackered after their European game but also were outplayed

The league is a marathon, not a sprint and he knows he has a long way to go

Personally i do not give a brick what Pep says or does not say, we are NOT a one man team and even if i had to choose one player we would miss over any other it would not be Kane ( as good as he is).

Stupid comment from a manager that was badly humbled last season (he and the idiot pundits all thought he was going to walk the league), so he had to go spend another small country GDP on players.

I honestly believe we a rhythm team, start of seasons are hard for us, as we play more games, the system becomes more automatic for the players and we get harder to play against.

Kane is a brilliant player, but our 2nd place was built on his, Son's, Dele and Eriksen's front contributions, with the solidity of Dembele, Wanyama and back five.

Our numbers since that shot spell last year are bonkers though

IIRC it’s 4 defeats in the league (united, Pool, West Ham and Chelsea this season), 3 draws and something like 30 wins

Our fixtures after the international break will be very tough and really test both the squad and Poch's rotational skills.

I agree with @scaramanga about the need for a metronomic player such as Winks next to a strong, physical player who can be more defensive most times.

I do think that depends on the opposition and game situation. Dier and Winks may work against Huddersfield and Apoel but i'm not sure i'd be as confident with at away at Old Trafford, where i might be more tempted to play Wanyama, Dembele and Winks in a midfield 3.

It's bleeping great that Poch has generated these options for us over time through good, smart purchasing plus using and developing youth players from our academy.
