This is for those that don't have automatic renewal.

Why do they still bother with this brick? More crap I have to deal with. I don't need a cheap scarf or a tie pin. Just send me the fudging card.

Danny should save the cash and get his premium choice of lift weights for New WHL instead.

Not much point in that... I went into the Megastore before the Bournemouth game and it was insane, hundreds of screeching gypsies clawing at gimmicky tat. And then I realised that the queue for the tills snaked right down one side and across the back of the store and down the other side. Sod that, I dragged my son back out into the sunshine.

Unless they mean a discount at the WHL club shop whilst the game is at Wembley, there were PLENTY of customers, no need to discount 10%.

10% discount on a £100 walk out jacket,or a tracksuit or on a £55 home shirt wow!!.....to get that discount i had to pay £50 to become a member for it,whats the point......instead of a tie pin, scarf and other endless tat...why not give 50% discount on a home shirt or a polo shirt for £10 or a free programme for selected games but then that will bite into their profit margins ....will we need to be members when the new ground is open, some games be sold out but their be a good chance to see half a dozen games at least and with away tickets, season ticket holders gobble those up in no time giving everyone else no chance.

I've also wondered about my 'need' for a membership going forward in the new stadium - I'm slipping down (and will continue to slip down) the points table, and then theres the recent trend of ST's taking all the away tickets...

...the club must be aware of such potential (dis)incentives to future membership though - I'd expect them to try to combat it in some way. Who knows, maybe via allocating a portion of away tickets to members (if this current trend persists)...?

    Simply won't happen

For me personally I've had an ST for 17 years but havent been able this season to get an away ticket for Arsenal, Palace & West Ham (I'm about 15 points short) so why should a member get a chance in front of me when I pay £900 up front to be an ST holder and they pay £50

Because if the club don't do something, they risk a significant downturn in membership numbers (and therefore, income). What will be the incentives to paying for membership if cup semi-finals/finals & virtually all away games are off the menu, and home tickets are far easier to come by than has previously been the case?

I'm not saying it's fair. I've been going very regularly for a similar period to yourself, and Sunday will be the first home NLD i'll miss, league and cup, since 2002. Such is the way the club currently does things...and something similar might be required to retain current membership revenues.

Maybe it should be solely based on LPs, regardless of whether ST or member?

I think the problem there is that the two systems aren't currently directly comparable. I was just suggesting something that they might do in order to retain the incentives to paying for membership. This particular factor wasn't an issue when Arsenal was more or less the only away game that went to a high ST-only cut-off. But that's now completely changed...

Which i get, i shot myself in the foot about 8yrs ago and screwed up payment for my ST renewal and went back to member, so id happily pay the 900 instead of the 50.

When you see ST ticket holders who blatantly get away tickets only to sell on (FV or Profit) as they know there will be a market, it does start to create a monopoly. Its not right that a member with 400PTS has no chance of going to an away game unless his mate who is ST holder gets him a ticket as it creates a chicken and egg situation

I think there should be 400 tickets that are available on a lottery, however when we have 40k season ticket holders. It should be for those ST holders without enough points, rather than current bronze members.

The problem with a LP only based system, is that only those who already have a high number of LP's will increase their LP's. The average member needs to have a chance of getting tickets. Why would you otherwise bother being a member?

That's pretty much the point I was making. The long-established incentives to ('active') membership are changing before our eyes, or about to change - those being the recent issue of non-availability of away tickets (due to new-found season ticket holder demand), and the coming issues of non-availability of cup semi & final tickets (if the system remains unchanged) along with the expected greater supply of home tickets.

The club is going to have to think very carefully about addressing these factors in my opinion, unless they want to risk haemorrhaging members...

Whilsy there is an option on the website to view availability I feel all is not lost and there could be some returns or a further release of seats or It could be wishful thinking

I got tickets for previous NLDs on the morning of the game (always seem to be some returns in West Lower) but dunno if I want to take that chance this year!
