I suppose I'm just being paranoid but it's amazing how such a random system manages to give Woolwich 8 home starts in 10 years and also never arranges for them to be away on both first and last match, but these things even themselves out over the millenia.

If there is such a thing as law of averages, looking at the last 10 seasons, we are due a home start and probably another away finish.

So my prediciton is going to be
1st match Sunderland at Home
Last match Aston Villa away

I read the first set of TV picks will be announced two weeks after the fixture list is published

They should really just announce the first two rounds straight away, then they can argue about the next two months all summer.

To be fair, I think it does take a while to sort out the police once the games are known, perhaps not two weeks.

I have read, although it is supposed to be random, the police are consulted before the fixtures are made official, as are clubs who may want a home game on (or as near to) a particular anniversary.

10,000 messages, impressive:cool:

This is the earliest start to a PL season since 1999/00 (we lost 0-1 at West Ham since you ask); this could be the first time since 2007 that there will be a midweek round of fixtures after the games which feels a bit nostalgic.
Interesting to see what happens over xmas - there will of course be Boxing Day games (Sat) and New Years Day programme with the FA Cup 3rd round being as late as Sat 9th (unless we play Burnley away on a monday night again!) so I expect that there will also be games on Bank holiday Monday (28th Dec too).

1st game: Crystal Palace (h)
Last game: Saudi Sportswashing Machine (a)

All clubs actually get to make a lot of requests, like Boxing day opponents or the placement of certain derby matches, plus I'm sure the PL have a few of their own, ie. Super Sundays.

What I'm saying is that they should announce the tv games for the first two rounds immediately. We all know what it's going to be anyway. Chelsea against a promoted side, ManU against a promoted side, Arsenal and Liverpool against some mid table nobodies and one of us and City.

i think Sky will play hardball this season with BT since BT 'stole' the Champions League off them, with what fixtures they want to show,i won't be surprised if they try to show some premier league games on a Champions League evenings which UEFA don't really allow but does happen sometimes in other countries.

Most probably they'll announce what they want to show in the first week in July, just to keep us hanging on as usual.

1st game-away to Leicester
Last game- home to Stoke.

Can we play Arsenal on the last game of the season please? Whenever we play those C U N T S the 2nd time in the season it's always a catalyst for them going on to win 15 games in a row no matter what the outcome is of our game against them.

Good thinking, but we all know we will be away in October or November with the home match in Feb or March

And it is getting on my nerves

So Wednesday is fixture d-day.

My guesses are as follows:

- we'll get 2 games in our first 6 vs teams who finished last season in the top 4.
- we'll get one of the promoted within the first 3 games
- a home game against Liverpool within the first month

For our opening fixture: i'll go for away to Leicester or Watford

I love a bit of 'guess the fixtures' - completely pointless and impossible, but tempting nevertheless.
I'd really like a decent home start - a Leicester or similar.
