London Ambulance Service treat cardiac arrest during Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea match

A football fan in his 60s suffered a heart attack during the Tottenham Hotspur match against Chelsea at the weekend.
The London Ambulance Service was called to White Hart Lane’s north stand, in Paxton Road, just before 1pm to reports of a man who was unwell.
A single responder and ambulance crew were sent to the scene and the man, believed to be in his 60s, was treated for cardiac arrest.
Paramedics made extensive efforts to resuscitate him both at the scene and on the way to London Chest Hospital, where he was taken as a priority.
The Spurs fan is believed to still be at the hospital where he is recovering.
A Tottenham spokesman thanked fans acting quickly to call for help and clear the area so medical staff could administer CPR.
He said: “We are pleased to report that a supporter who suffered a cardiac arrest in the North Upper Tier is now recovering in the London Chest Clinic.
“Again, thank-you to fans who acted so swiftly and cleared the area allowing CPR to be administered immediately at the scene, following an excellent and prompt response from matchday medical teams and club stewards.”
