Etienne Capoue

The Huddlestone sale and Livermore loan mean we must have Capoue or an alternative tied up. Massive upheaval this season!

Not really - 4 in (P, NC, RS and EC) and 5 out (WG, SC, CD, TH and SP) so far. We brought 6 in last summer and sold about 10 IIRC.

If you compare the teams that finished each season with that which takes to the field of play for the new season, we had what two main changes at the start of last season - Dembele and Vertonghen?

This year, with players back from injury, Rose like a new signing, and new key players there will be what 3 or 4 players who ended the season in the first team? We have a mostly new midfield, new CF, and possibly half of the defense new as well. That's quite a lot of change which ever way you cut it.

Comparing the team our last game with the one that starts this weekend isn't too useful really. At the end of a season you're usually a few players down through injury and some will be suffering fatigue and loss of form.

Well its an indication of consistency. AVB is in the position of fielding a largely new team. He doesn't really know how they will gel or work together. He's had a week or so to get them together and get them drilled.

I'm not complaining. I like the caliber of these new players. But we have to be realistic. Its a big ask to hit the ground running and play like a cohesive team that know each other and how we play.
