Emirates Marketing Project

Of all the football deals in all the world, what attracted Emirates Marketing Project’s Abu Dhabi owner and executives to go into business with their manager Pep Guardiola’s brother and agent?

Probably for the same reason the Qataris found Platini's son to be the ideal person for a legal position in investment group that owns PSG. Talent runs in families.

Bayern Munich set to test Emirates Marketing Project with £70m bid for Leroy Sané
Bayern Munich have made Leroy Sané their No 1 transfer target this summer and are preparing a bid of around £70m for the 23-year-old Germany international.

The winger, who has been in and out of the City starting line-up this season, is believed to be keen on a move back to Germany, having arrived in England from Schalke in 2016.

Bayern, who won the Bundesliga for a seventh successive time last weekend, will lose two long-serving wide players in Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry this summer and are looking to rejuvenate an ageing squad.

The German champions have already spent almost £100m on French defenders Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, while teenage Canadian winger Alphonso Davies has made only brief substitute appearances since joining in January.

Given Guardiola seems to have doubts about Sane, I would imagine he would jump at that chance. A better test of City would be to offer £30m.

Did this analysis for another board to show the sheer money duping at City

All monies used in this post are in pounds. The source of this information is https://www.transferleague.co.uk/manche ... -transfers.

I have included 2015/2016 to include the spend just before he took over. Note that even before now City had spent the following - 2014/15 (87.5m), 2013/14 (103.2m), 2012/13 (54m), 2011/12 (76m), 2010/11 (154.8m), 2009/10 (125m), 2008/09 (127.7m), 2007/08 (45.8m), 2006/07 (2.4m). Compare this to their spending in prior years to 2006/07 when the largest was 32.7m in 2001/02 and lowest was 0 in 2004/05. Their average spending would be less than 10m for the period pre-2006/07 if calculated (I estimated).

Point of the above paragraph is to illustrate the continued spending on City. City became faves not because they were a big club but rather they were now a rich club. Expectations grew due to the investment. Below are the further details for the last 4 seasons. City have spent 520.4m since Guardiola took over i.e. 2016/17 to 2018/2019 (3 seasons). The spend pre-Guardiola i.e. 2007/08 to 2015/2016 (9 seasons) is 926.1m. Total investment from Mansour's take over is 1446.5m.

2015/2016 (152.1m)

Enes Uanl - 2m
Raheem Sterling - 44m
Patrick Roberts - 11m
Fabian Delph - 8m
Nicolas Otamendi - 32m

Abu Dhabi billionaire Sheikh Mansour took over City in 2008 to make City one of the richest clubs in the world.

This is mad - 1.5 billion pounds on football. Will the country truly go against City? That is investment in the UK. That can drive an economy.

That is one of the contradictions of FFP. The Sheikh and Abramovich have invested over 2 billion in English football. The money goes to pay footballers, managers and other football people (and agents) and the money is spread to other UEFA nations via transfers. This is bad and unfair.

On the other hand the Glazers and Toxic Texans have taken over a billion out of football. Money that could have been spent of footballers, managers and other football people has been taken from the game. This is perfectly fair.

And at least money some of the money from the players wages is spent in the UK. Where as the Taxans have taken the billion out of the uk.

Nobody likes or expects a heavy defeat last game of the season in the North-East, but these things sometimes happen don't they ;)

I noticed.

They covered their two weakest squad places.

Even stronger than last year, which is a frightening and ridiculous prospect.

I think they are in for tripple digits this year
