To be fair that’s not the right way of looking at it. The top 6 teams other than us on occasions tend to wait for a lower level PL team to take a punt on this type of profile player - Championship player with potential or a young player from abroad, and wait and see how he performs in the PL. If he proves himself then the big boys in the PL are happy to pay a fee 2-3 times what he would have been worth had they taken the punt originally. A couple of seasons in the PL and I’d be shocked if one of the big boys weren’t after him....

You have nailed it though as certain sides see the big money signings as key for their profile
