Fabio Paratici - Consultant

That's fine other than the fact that this season he is out on loan at PSV Eindhoven (not really a team known for paying especially big wages or transfer fees).

We seemingly didn't try, and when some other needs were sorted out towards the end of the window rumours had us pursuing non striker options.

Probably tells us something about how Paratici, Nuno etc see the needs of the squad. They don't match your views and that's fine, but should at least be understandable?

Not for a very cheap fee
He is back up don’t forget and experienced in a role we have no experience in cover

Didnt realise his contract was almost up. He's never seen that good to me, but at the moment we have no-one so I guess he couldnt not be an improvement

Maybe our shredding the wage bill last summer was with a view to doing some bosman deals?…. I live in hope but not expecation.
Maybe
It’s just my guess as I’ve said
I also think Nuno will be gone next summer for Ten Haag. That’s my crystal ball moment
I think we wanted Ten Haag but he wanted another year (same as potter) so we went for the stop gap option
Again… just my speculation

...and look at the ages of Paratici's outfield signings: Romero, Emerson, Gil and Sarr
Yes we have signed some younger players which is great. But we can’t sign a whole team worth of young players, everyone knows you need some experience too. You can’t honestly expect every signing we make to be under 25 and that the recruitment team think a 27 year old is too old…..
