    Similar to vertonghen.

The deeney one was the decision to try and barge him off the ball, he does it a lot and probably wins them 90% of the time but hopefully he will learn that sometimes it’s better to pick and choose your battles and contain physical but limited players whilst reinforcements arrive rather than go for an all or nothing challenge.

Shoulder charges don't always work. Sanchez will learn that in the EPL it's better to get hip to hip... Sometimes working the centre of gravity pays off better

What I liked about Sanchez last night was the kind ‘escort’ he offered to substituted opposing players. Our very own doorman!

I didn't. He'll get carded for doing that against a savvy team.
He saves us 3 seconds whilst riling the opposition, OR wastes 60 seconds if it kicks off.
A bit pointless really, even though I share his sentiment, just get off the damn pitch.

Love how little mention our record signing is getting.

Head down, doing a good reliable job every time he’s selected. Slowly cutting out the mistakes too as he settles more and gains experience.

What a signing he’s turning into, and looking cheap at £42m!

    Good point Jon

A great piece of recruitment, out of the blue

This is what we need, doesn't matter if a player costs X or Y or Z but they just need to be a good player that can make a difference

Would now be worth more than what we paid

He's getting back into the swing of things after his layoff. I think a "backs to the wall" defensive performance suits him, he seems happy as a pure defender. Good job too, it's what we need against the better teams.

Played really well last night and still only 22 so plenty of time for him to become a top player.

I thought it was 50/50 last night as to whether he or Alderweireld was the man of the match.

Thought he was ropey first half, but had a good 2nd half and won his battle v Mitrovic.

Hopefully, next season he can stay injury free and be consistent. Been an up and down season for him, but that's not uncommon for young defenders. His 3rd season will be an important one I think, I'd hope he kicks on and starts to become our most important centre-half.

Putting his neck in between Mitrovic’s hands when the former objected to him legitimately using his body to intercept the ball, allowing him to then slam him to the ground and then not reacting to it.

Terrible for about 55/60 minutes, but finished the game well.

The ref really needs to get pulled up on the booking though absolute joke, we have to appeal that? Same with Rose.

I agree, even more so with the Rose one. I'm all for punishing diving, but when players don't their reputations should be restored. Tyler the clam said Llorente should have been booked for diving too. I would have let both slide if Salah is punished and suitably, i.e multiple yellows and then not given an actual penalty for the boy who cried wolf lesson...

Thought he was up and down - not as good as last season, so pleasing that Alderweireld and Vertonghen are looking great at the moment.
