The worst abuse players receive these days tends to be from despicable online scumbags so you simply cannot fathom what he may have gone through, particularly the type of direct messages he would have received.

Remember, before Danny Rose hit his peak at Spurs he deleted all his social media accounts due to the abuse he received after he had been offered a new contract.

Not sure on him and Romero. Romero looked arguably our best defender before his injury. Sanchez has done well, but not our best defender at the moment.

Romero is also much more capable on the ball. Him, Dier and Davies together should fix at least some of the problems we face in possession. Emerson has his weakness when attacking, having a better ball playing centre back next to him and occasionally supporting him would help.

Not saying Romero should walk back into the team, definitely shouldn't be rushed back. But not sure how long we can afford to keep him on the bench when he's fit.

    Despicable.

Dier confirmed that a lot of players scroll through social media after a game, on the bus https://www.thehighperformancepodcast.com/podcast/ericdier

Of course there are those scumbags that send hateful private messages or curse the players.
On the other hand there are fans, who are allowed to be unhappy when they make mistakes. Furthermore they have the right to an opinion and the freedom of speech to post them(în a civil manner) on forums and SM. It is what it is.

No player deserves abuse online. But they also have to be aware of what they post. He hada great season on loan at sunderland, then when it finished he posted. Great get to go back and sit on spurs bench. It tinkled off a lot of fans. When he was offered a new contract some idiots said they didn't want him.

Another game another silly mistake from Tanganga first and him second. All our CB make silly mistakes and plenty of them. Romero is the only quality CB we have and we need to address this în January, not summer.

We played had a squad more or less set up to play with two centre backs. Even then it was a problem area.

Move to a back three has helped, Davies has been very good, better role for Dier who has been good. We've managed without one of our first choice centre backs, managing without two was always going to be a massive ask.

I'm quite a bit happier than you about our current first choice players at the back, but the step down after that looks like the drop off a cliff.

Tanganga could probably do with a good loan move.

You’re apportioning some blame onto Sanchez for Chelsea’s opener?!?

I thought he was good last night, seems to have confidence in himself again and showing it.

Lots focus of striking partnerships but the central defensive unit is the most important in the team, sometimes the best individual players dont make the best combination. Playing regularly with the same team mate helps build that understanding particularly if you have a good coach with a plan. Sanchez has looked better with our system and his passing has improved with his confidence, unfortunately Tanganga has struggled looking short on confidence and understanding of his role.

Someone mentioned it today. De ligt, de jong, van der beek, sanchez. None of them really lived up to their potential.

Sanchez, Royale, Davies and Reggie were all targeted tonight and their weaknesses got exposed.

I saw from the first 10 minutes what the problem was and yet Conte couldn’t? Surely not.

    Weird he didn’t see it
They constantly had one striker on a wide centre back and the other floating which meant Romero had no idea who to pick up
Their left back (french lad who was class) just kept on doing the right things and ward prowse did it in a deeper way on their right
If all it took was two hard working strikers to break the system then we have big issues coming

He’s just not very good, he has games when you think he’s ok (still with one or two brain farts) then games like last night where he was awful.

Not exaggerating when I say I don’t think I have ever seen a Spurs CB who is so utterly terrible on the ball. He must be the most uncultured South American footballer in the history of the game. If Conte continues with three at the back then we can’t keep playing Sanchez and Davies.
