I think it’s handy to have some experienced pros around, looking at our oldest players if Rose is correct then we really need to at least tie Jan up. Only Janssen has an expiry date shorter than this group btw.

Surely aload of gonad*s? We signed Llorente, we have Verts, Toby even Moussa that are all older than Rose.

Would be a mistake if we let Rose go unless we have a genuine top quality replacement lined up or some brick hot youngster. He was one of our best players last season for me. And as others have said we’ve got enough work to do in this window without adding a new LB to the list. The priorities should be RB and CM.

The issue with all these quotes IMO is we don’t always get to hear what the question was he was asked

    And I agree

The left side right now is fine and the right is a weakness. That’s where the money and investment has to be

he defender, 29 next month, told Sky Sports after the Three Lions won a penalty shoot-out with Switzerland on Sunday in the inaugural UEFA Nations League's third-place play-off: “If I am [at Tottenham next season], great. If not, great.

"It's no secret I've been linked with a move in the media, and it's the club's policy to move players on when they reach a certain age.”

As much as I can find so far.

Danny Rose has hinted he could leave Tottenham in the summer after revealing he is unsure about his future at the club.

The left-back suggested the Champions League final defeat against Liverpool could have been his final contribution in a Spurs shirt, after England secured a third-place finish in the Nations League.

Following England's penalty shootout victory over Switzerland, Rose told Sky Sports News: "I don't know what the future holds now. I'm looking forward to a break. If I'm back at Tottenham next season, great, if I'm not - great. I'll just have to wait and see.

"It's not about regular first-team football. I know my age and I know how the club's run in terms of if you get to a certain age they might look to ship you on.

"It has been no secret that my name has been mentioned quite a few times in terms of players moving on and I'll be just sitting tight over the next few weeks and just seeing what happens. Either way I'm prepared for whatever happens."

The 28-year-old has previously been disappointed with a lack of game time under Mauricio Pochettino but featured 37 times for Spurs in all competitions last season and admits he is proud of his achievements.

Rose said: "Last season I didn't play as much as I wanted. This season I've played quite a bit, it's been really good.

"As a whole I'm proud of what I've done individually and I'm over the moon about what the club has achieved as well. There have been some difficulties - no signings, playing at Wembley and I think the club and players have shown great character.

"We are in a good position for next season now and we will be raring to go because the final in Madrid was an unbelievable experience and it's one I'd love to experience again."

Rose is Spurs' longest current servant among his fellow team-mates and if he remains at the club he is eager to gain his first piece of silverware, after suffering disappointment against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

He added: "Obviously it hurts. You are reminded of the defeat every day so it's disappointing but on a bigger picture, it has been a very good season for the club.

"We are playing Champions League football next season and we just came up short last weekend. Now the season's finally finished we can reflect on that and hopefully go one further next year and lift that trophy."

I don't think we will look to move Rose on at the moment, we have other positions to address. Maybe in the summer of 2020 I could see him going.

I’d like to keep him but be able to provide athletic competition for his place, the way he plays requires him to be at the top of his fitness but also means he takes a lot of knocks in the game. The stumbling block may be he’s 28 with 2 years left so the club may see this as an opportunity to cash in, especially Rose himself doesn’t want an extension.

We may see a couple of our older players (can’t believe a 28 year old is falling into this category!) tempted by longer term offers from other clubs if we only do have a policy of only offering 2 year deals or limited extensions post 30. As I’ve said before I think we need to be flexible in this area did to the intangible benefit of experience and enforcing the managers values as opposed to the depreciation and resale value of the player, especially in the case of Jan and Toby if he had any interest in staying on.

The tagline could have been “Rose proud of seasons exploits in difficult circumstances and is already thinking about next season with Spurs as urges them to go one better next season .”

Danny will be here next season.

Sessegnon will sign, play some games and hopefully turn into another well capable of dominating the left flank, at which point Rose could go and all is well.

Alternatively if Sessegnon turns into a world beater, we'll probably need a new lb/lwb.

Davies can just stay and do as he's told:)

I don't think he's been truly forgiven for his Google outburst, rumours were that we wanted him out last summer. He played well last season and isn't a priority to replace but I think he's in the bracket of players that if we got a good offer for we'd let him go.

Danny himself has wanted out for some time, about 3 seasons ago we refused to sell him and he did a full sulk.

Llorente, Vorm, Trippier and potentially Toby & Danny, would drop average age of squad by quite a bit if the incoming were in the 21 - 25 age group.

I don't think 28 is old now, but Poch's style is probably better suited to younger players.

Personally I must confess I will be disappointed if we do not keep him because I think he is undoubtedly the superior of our two left backs. With 2 years left I would offer him a new contract, maybe a two year extension.

Not only our best left back but also a player we all love. This is important to us.

Call me a cynic but it sounds suspiciously like he's trying to make it look like he's not wanted to cover his desperation to land a big contract elsewhere.

Depends on if we are getting a new LB

If we don't, obviously we keep Rose, if we do, Davies is the more obvious to keep (can play CB as well, probably more likely to accept a 2nd choice role, Danny probably fetch more as well)

I thought it sounded like a paranoid response to a journo asking him if it was true Spurs are selling him?
