Levy has rolled the dice big time this window. My only gripe is not doing it a couple of years ago when poch's lads were getting jaded, there was already some dissent-we needed a shake up back then.

But now, the pieces are in place, we MUST go for it.

I don’t think he’s rolled the dice at all, this is all in line with his MO, and where we have been heading for quite some time.

Only difference this season is he has bought in a couple of players with no resale value - Doherty and Bale. Doherty was relatively cheap and Bales on loan and it sounds like Levy would have wanted him anyway. I guess the other difference is that he didn’t wait to ship out players before buying which was a surprise given that the wage bill will increase. That said, he managed the club in such a way that we have a lot of headroom in that area.

Also begs the question about what Poch refused. Would Levy have bought him experienced players if that’s what was asked for? Poch’s style very much relies on young, hungry players buying into his methods and running through brick walls. I’d still be critical of Levy for his mismanagement of Poch but I guess we’ll never know the full story and I believe we are now a stronger club than we have been even during Poch’s reign.

Spot on, and we now have a manager who knows how to win things.

Stadium built and I think a better squad with a proven manager.

I think there is a little rose tints with pochettino ... would have loved him to be a "legacy" type manager ... a rare romantically story in modern football.

He is a loveable guy and couldn't but help but will him on to succeed.

Hopefully he will be back with a bit more experience and make his home here for a long time ... even I can't help these feelings of romanticism

He is a legacy manager for us
Without Poch we wouldn’t have Jose IMO

I agree, Poch lifted us to a higher level but it seemed he to lose the desire to take us over the line. I do believe that Jose will do that for us though.

Not sure desire is the word
It felt to me like he may have lost something on and off the pitch
He is also still quite inexperienced

Desire, urge, strength, whatever it was he had lost it. The inexperience is always there until you win something though.

I don't think he lost it, I think his players lost it.
Poch wanted to kick on, the frustration was there for all to see when the players couldn't or wouldn't, and Levy took the long term option.
I don't blame Levy for that, I'm disappointed Levy and poch could not sort an agreeable timescale for all our benefit, as so often seems to happen for us circumstances never align.

To be honest i believe both players and manager lost it, for what ever reason the players were not doing it anymore and Poch had lost the desire/ability to change it up.
