Cycling thread

Going to be a challenging couple of weeks on le tour with tremendous heat - potentially tarmac melting temperatures.

Looks awesome! Did you go down the snow section!? Must have been soft and pretty hard to ride on? Would love to try it, but I know I don't have the equipment or skills!

That can happen, but the snow has really melted. Normally get skiers in the summer (up until midday when the snow turns to slush), but hardly any about. Was looking forward to riding snow, but not this year unfortunately.

One of the great Tour de France stages today. Watched the entire thing from start to finish.
Probably the best mountain stage in the tour since Contador attacked from the start of the stage in 2011 in a last gasp effort to get yellow.
Today was proper racing. Not a team on the front looking down at a power meter and keeping to their prescribed wattage.
It was rider v rider not cycling manager from a team car telling people when to attack.

I advise anyone that can to seek out the highlights.

Was fantastic, usually the hour long highlights are enough to get the gist of the race, but I don’t think it will do it justice in this case.

just generally I find the Tour de France races soo relaxing, France and boardering countries are soo beautiful. The commentary team are excellent as well. Tough to find 5 hours a day to follow it, but we have it on on the office tv sometimes.
