Excellent game from him today! Wrote the same in the omt, but his work rate defensively today was top notch in addition to his goal and overall nice play. Great to see him adjust and adapt! Best game of the season from the little great Dane.

Can't help but admire Eriksen's form now. Eriksen has already scored 5 league goals, just 1 behind Chadli so far this season. Amazingly, Eriksen has scored 11 league goal this this year. Only Yaya Toure(14) and Steven Gerrard (12) are among the midfielders who have scored more than Eriksen this year. It is really amazing to think Eriksen is only 22 ! He will be a key player to us if we can keep him long term.

By far our best outfielf player, a real joy to watch.
There's a bit of a conundrum with him, he has the tekkers, dribbling and vision needed to replace Modric BUT he has goals in him, more than most midfielders which begs the question what is his best position?
Either way, at only 22 it's evident we have a very special player on our hands.

His defensive work has been good all season. Heat maps show he's working much harder defensively under Poch. It's more than likely as to why after his slow start to the season he wasn't dropped, because he was working hard defensively and once he got fitter and used to the system (which you can only get by playing) he was going to be an asset defensively and offensively and he's showing it with the goals he's scoring.

Definitely looks like his stamina is improving, if Eriksen can keep up this level of workrate to go with with his exceptional technical abilities we'll have one heck of a midfielder on our hands. Perhaps one who can combine the best attributes of Modric and van der Vaart.

@WindyCOYS: Glad that Hoddle picked up on Eriksen's defensive effort - he made 5 tackles, more than any other Spurs player.

Excellent news. The kind of attitude that's propelled players like Bale and Modric from super talents to superstars.
Mentioned it in the OMT too (I think) that he stated that he wanted to and, and could, play 90 minutes a month or so back after being subbed quite often. Seems to have worked hard to make sure that's the case and also being able to put in shifts like the one against Everton. Great attitude to go with his great skill.

According to this Danish newspaper, Tottenham have offered him a new £60,000 a week contract, but Eriksen doesn't want to start negotiations until the summer. He's supposedly on 36K at the moment.

Safe to say we'll be losing him then if that's all levy is gonna offer him while soldado and adebayor earn 100k a week. Probably part of his 'he wouldn't sign my hands were tied' plan tho. Clubs a shambles.

In all honesty tho forget money and wages if you were a promising player at spurs the last thing you'd be thinking about is becoming tied down to the club for and longer period of time, same goes for vertonghen. Our dealings in last few windows have not matched these players ambitions clearly and I can see a lot of unhappy players wanting out this summer.
