Low priority? we haven’t found one who can adequately cover Kane when we need to so far and that’s an issue that’s huge arguably
Vinny has taken his role vs weak europa sides and done well but we need a player who step up and take that Kane role when he is out
    Vinny may grow into that

Low priority because CB, Keeper, RB, CM all bigger issues to sort.

You are completely ignoring even if money was no object, the player you are describing simply isn't going to come to Spurs, agents have said no striker wants to come to Spurs as long as Harry Kane is there, because they know they will always be 2nd choice

If backup striker is a low priority then I'm not sure we can be spending the £20m+ that Vinicius will cost if having to buy a new keeper, CB, CM and RB this summer as bigger priorities?

Low priority doesn't mean it isn't important, it's would you go out of your way to find another option, take a risk, what percentage of budget, potentially spend more/less? my view

    - Top money this summer (as much as we can afford) -> CB

The rest will all be in the £20M range unless we get a bargain/end of contract option. Context -> Doherty cost ~£15M

    I get that
But surely it’s a priority because of our best player is broken and we have a plan that his role is key too, we can’t just revert to another plan can we (that assuming we have a plan).
i mean that’s been key to our issues this season.
If Vinny is the answer then that’s fine. That’s a club call and the guys ok. But it all comes down to the ££

Don’t forget his fee is agreed at £36m
We really want to be paying half that
If I’m benfica in selling him to another Orem club who will it pay more
West Ham need a striker. Brighton do. Southampton will too.
All will pay more than we will for him IMO

I'd be amazed if anyone would pay more than £20m for him...plus you also need the player to agree to go there

I think he’s pretty good. We should have seen much more of him in the league this season to see if he can hack it in the league. Hard to make a call on signing him with him having so little time in the Prem.

It's in their interest to put a high valuation on loans in case the player really hits it off

Low priority doesn't mean it isn't important?..... Isn't that the very definition of what low priority means?!?

We keep on coming back to the fee. Even if Benfica cave in on their £36m and accept £25m, that could be a very big chunk of our transfer budget when we desperately need a centre back (I personally think we need 2 of them) a goalkeeping option who can properly challenge Lloris and a starting CM partner for Hojbjerg.

Priority mate is how you order the important things, e.g. if you had to (not want to, but had to) pick between only solving the CB problem or backup striker problem, which would you prioritize?

I agree, the fee is probably the make or break on it, but again that is where having Vini already on loan could be an advantage. We could negotiate a cut price, we could loan him for another year to push (this time might need to be committed buy) the spend a year, etc.

I just don't see us buying any option (unless you are going academy age) under £12-15M with a ton of risk/unknowns, in my view the saving vs. negotiating something probably in the range of £8-10M more with Vini doesn't make sense, but not my call, so we will see ..

If he gets some more prem minutes, it'll help make up our minds.

Of course it's anyone's guess what our financial muscle is this summer. Last year's spending surprised us, and we spent a big chunk the previous season. With massively reduced income streams, and still no concrete sign of when that ends, it's hard to see much of a budget beyond sales. But we do have players that can go and may add up to a bit, provided the market does actually have some fluidity, which is largely beyond our control as well.
