Adam Johnson Case - Post Sensibly

That last bit just adds to the pattern of an interest in young girls. At first sight the sentence seemed harsh, but the grooming of the girl and the interest suggest he would be a danger for others.

It also adds to the pattern of one of the most searched subjects within porn globally.

Pleased with the sentence, but he'll be out in 2 years, maybe less. Don't care what happens to him now, he will probably play again because like most footballers, they too stupid to do anything else, but it'll be at a league 1 level at best. Thoughts are still with the victim, so young and innocent and probably scarred for life through this experience.
That is an incorrect, sweeping statement.
It depends entirely on the sentence type as to whether he'll automatically be released on licence (not freed) after half (not 2 years) of hus sentence. It likely his sentence type will require a Parole review at tariff expiry (the point at which he is eligible for release on licence) so release will depend on whether the risk assessment deems he is eligible for release on licence

I'm not so sure. Even at league 1 level or lower the publicity fallout would be huge. Also he will be on the sex offenders register - how would that impact his involvement in the community work that many clubs partake in nowadays ( not sure how much that applies to the lower leagues)? Time will tell I guess.

I'm a big believer in people shouldn't be disadvantaged after serving their time, but I'm not sure the public opinion would agree in his case, so England in our of the question.

He may be able to get a deal somewhere where the case is lower profile and he can ride the initial media furore.

What is exceptionally unclear is whether he has any remorse? Does he gauge what he did? Does he understand he has a problem which has led him to this place? Does he feel any remorse for fudging around with a girl whose life will now forever be scarred by the entire situation?

He can always go to a country where they don't care about what happens to women, Saudi Arabia for example. That wasn't a flippant answer btw, I genuinely can't think of a country in Europe who would take him, it would have to be some backward nation who value women as 2nd class citizens.

How old was she again? 15? He could go to a country where the age of consent was 15 or less? they may just shrug their shoulders about the whole thing.

I can't find details of his sentence type, but if his sentence is up for parole then his level of remorse will be taken into consideration.

He'd need to go a country that has a flippant view of the law - plenty of those in Europe.
Add a sense of moral ambivalence as it wasn't "one of their own".
Plenty to choose from, especially if they can get a cheap footballer.
But in reality, he won't be in a fit state to play unless he is too old to.

I cant believe anyone in football would employ someone on the sex offenders list, he has to rebuild his life but not in football.

So if he was a drunk driver just as random example, it would be ok?
She was 15, my mum and started dating when she was 15 back in the forties an my daughter met her boyfriend in the sixth form.
He has done his time.

I know its difficult to age young girls as many can look a lot older when "done up" but a man in his twenties should be able to get a good idea of their age once they had spoken to them and ensure what he was doing. Johnson is a public figure and should take even greater care of his behaviour, he has used his fame to groom an under aged girl, if she doesnt care it not an excuse. Any criminal action by players should be unacceptable and clubs should take action that is appropriate, employing him at club would give him access to impressionable young men and young girls which any sensible business would be concerned about.

My take is, he has been punished and he should now be allowed to continue his life.

The morals behind all these types of "crimes" are conflicting IMO, if she had been 16 by one minute it would be fine, this just feels wrong.

BUT please I'm not explaining this difficult subject well.
