Never liked the old dear, always felt she thought her brick didnt smell, but she did a lot for our golden generation.

Wow Carl Reiner gone, that is sad. Love his films. Mel Brooks will be devastated. R.I.P.

Celebrated Mel's birthday this weekend. He was even active on twitter right until the end.

    Great mates.
Watched 'Comedians in cars getting coffee' with Jerry Seinfeld featuring these two legends, if you haven't seen it it's well worth a watch.

I watched The Good, The Bad and The ugly last night. Hopefully I didn’t do an Aaron Ramsey on him.

This is huge news over here - the leading story on our state broadcaster’s website.

It’s hard to describe what Jack Charlton means to Ireland but there’s a generation of people for whom he is football. Jack is more than that though. What he did for the football team coincided with (some say was a cause of) us becoming a properly functioning and more confident country. Jack was more than a successful football manager, he was a cultural icon in Ireland.

Sadly it’s still very difficult, and was nigh on impossible in the 80s and 90s, for an Englishman to be loved in Ireland. Jack is pretty much universally loved.

A very sad day for a great, great man.

    RIP

I had the pleasure of meeting him on a few coaching sessions, a very funny and nice guy.

    RIP Jack.
