Indeed, some challenges you just can't win... ;)

On the basis of that flawed argument, any time two players jump there is a risk of one of them landing awkwardly and seriously injuring themselves. Football is a contact sport, and injury is always a risk. I do not believe that Kane backing in to win a foul is any worse than two people jumping...

And I repeat, he has got himself in between the player and the ball, and the opponent should be sensible enough to know he cannot win it without clattering into Kane and shouldn't be jumping in in that situation. Kane is being clever; defenders are repeatedly being stupid.

To be fair, I think most of the time Kane is moving into the area where the ball is dropping. He is not moving deliberately to block another player's path. The Lallana situation is a good example, as the ball was in the air he dropped a yard or two into the area where the ball was dropping and...

Or be closer to Kane in the first place so that when the ball is in the air they are able to nip in front and win it. There are certain situations where you simply cannot win the ball, and if you are behind the player that is one of those situations. Defenders shouldn't try and win balls they...

Just out of interest, are you OK with players getting in between an opponent and the ball to ensure that the opponent cannot get the ball without going through or otherwise making contact with the player? I can't see any difference with this situation and what you're moaning about. If a player...

If players are stupid enough to try and win a ball by going through or over the top of someone who has cannily positioned themselves in between the ball and the player, then more fool them. Sometimes players just have to accept you cannot win a certain ball cleanly, so shouldn't lunge in or try...

    Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

I was completely underwhelmed when we signed him, but I was wrong. He has been sensational for us so far this season.

    Son Heung-Min

Son must surely have to be considered the greatest Asian player of all time... to be honest aside from Nakata I cannot think of anyone else who comes remotely close.

2017 I'm not convinced just yet

I was lucky enough to see him perform live twice; once doing an electric set spanning his solo stuff, Audioslave and Soundgarden material, and then separately doing a one man acoustic set, performing mostly his own stuff, with a couple of Soundgarden/Audioslave tracks thrown in. On each...

Shocking and deeply upsetting news. The possessor of the finest voice ever to grace rock music has died. So sad! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-39960066

No, Ports is older, he's 23, turning 24 next month. Oh, and I agree, Dan Lawrence is a class act.

Frankly I'm surprised the latter hasn't happened already. If anyone deserves it, it's him.

A day is a long time in football....

The key thing is to learn from these mistakes. If they really do want to win things (and let's face it, they talk the talk nowadays) they need to make sure that performances like the last two do not happen again. They need to find ways to win when playing badly, and not get beat when playing brick.

    See you guys in August

Are you saying this is a positive? They have had a bad season, we have had a good one yet they still finish above us? I'm sorry, but I disagree. The performances in the last few games have undone all the good work we had done over the first 30 odd games, and shows that we are still a soft...

A day is a long time in football....

Did we over achieve or did the usual suspects under achieve? I'd argue the latter. Normally the likes of City, United, Chelsea etc get 75+ points. Had they done so this year we would have been down in fifth or sixth. I frankly don't care that we finished third, we finished third by default...

One player from the past 20 years.

Klinsmann. Best striker I've seen in my lifetime of supporting Spurs, and capable of scoring all kinds of goals with either foot or his head. I think a complete striker who can get on the end of crosses, get in behind the defence and chase balls over the top, can play with his back to goal and...

They didn't say that, they said go back and score loads of runs and you MIGHT be considered again. MIGHT be considered. If he took that as a guarantee that he would get back in if he scored runs then he's an even bigger fool than I thought he was. However I do concede that Graves shouldn't...

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Nobody doubts his ability (although he's not in the same league as the true batting greats of today) but the guy is a cnut, who disrespects his team mates and bad mouthed them all to sell a few books. Cricket is a team game, and bringing back someone like him...
