The Official 2023/24 Premier League Thread

It doesn’t matter why there is debt, just how much it costs to service it. If stadium related costs are ignored well then the Glazers could just have remortgaged the stadium and pocketed the money and circumvented ffp that way. It just doesn’t work like that.

We have more debt than that. It’s debt servicing that affects the numbers.

Could explain why we tend to improve in the second half.

    So, what happened today?

I have worked from home before and whilst it is good for the home economics it’s not the optimum way of working. I suspect I am getting more and more culturally isolated from the core of the population! Thank you very much. You have always been both polite and eloquent at all times -...

**** Tottenham Hotspur FC vs Fulham FC ****

Badgers. Badgers poo in shallow pits called 'latrines'. Their droppings vary from firm and sausage-shaped, to softer, slimier and darker if they've been eating lots of worms! Badger droppings have a sweet, musky smell. Same as me COYS.

    So, what happened today?

Pleased to hear it. I’m most worried about the energy levels flagging as am used to a late start, a morning nap and an afternoon siesta. I’ve got to start going to bed at 10pm instead of 2am. It’s the same line of work as always. The pity of it is that I will be working from home. On the plus...

    So, what happened today?

@Daisuk how was your week- hope you enjoyed it and are not too exhausted? I’m going back to work myself in the week before Easter after a long lay off (from June 2023). my wife is more pleased about this than I am.

    Champions League 23/24

All said and done, the Champions league is naff until the knockout stages. I also think that it is easier (at least for us) to win this than is the league.

    Ingerlund

Dunk would be my first choice centre back - could never pick Maguire who does some amazing things but at the very top level is constantly shown up.

He has one Afcon to his name.

He is super vigilant. I've not seen a player who looks around the pitch more than he does without the ball.

Absolutely. Run them hard and fast, have them complimentary and swapping sides.

    Brennan Johnson

That is interesting. And it makes sense to me as those metrics are complimentary. A lack of penalties goes hand in hand with lots of touches suggests we are not as fast and direct as we could be. Do the teams with more touches create more attacks and score many more goals? As for referees not...

    Brennan Johnson

Either side he needs to go full pace into the penalty area where an attacker has the upper hand, and learn to draw the contact. We have had what, one penalty this season?

    Financial Fair Play

Another day another loophole revealed. Chelsea spends we know about - fair enough, not so much the other end of that table. How is that viable? I guess this sort of nonsense is the basis of the charges they face. Would not surprise me if City book in 50 £million profit for exporting unsold...
