***OMT Tottenham Hotspur vs. CSKA Moscow***

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Poch cant win it seems.

I still dont know why professional players in 2016 need rest anyway. £50k a week and they can only perform once every 7 days. WALOB.

Come on Spurs, lets have a bagful like Saturday and nail this f#ckin hoodoo

Poch out?

Hardly.
This is typical Poch and we probably have to accept he gonna continue to fudge up rotation like he's done consistently since he took over.
I said earlier in the thread that he'd play a much stronger team than anyone expected.
Still its hard not to get annoyed about it

I'm am interested to know, what do you think our aims should be this season?

Ideally? Finish 3rd in the Europa League then get as far as we can in the competition using our second string.

Then use our strongest team to compete for the PL and also give the FA Cup our upmost respect.

Do people not think if there is such an obvious decision that has been made e.g weak team vs strong team, that he's probably got some logic behind it? He's earned our trust and it could be any number of things. Support the man.

Could be that he's detected a hint of excuse making in the squad in that players think they can use Wembley as a reason they aren't performing and he wants to nip it in the bud.

Could be that he wants to build some rhythm from a settled side.

Could be that he wants to build a culture of every game being important, and requiring a winning mentality.

Could be thay he views qualifying for the Europa as important because it gives us another route into CL next year and we want the options available to us, leaving nothing to change.

Could be that he really wants the Europa to get the squad used to continuing to play 2 or 3 big games in 7 days.

Could be that he really wants the Europa to give the kids more game time in a couple of months, which may lead us sooner rather than later to having a more valuable, deep squad with young players that have experience performing in pressure situations, meaning we challenge for titles regularly, quicker.

Whatever it is, I'm sure he's doing sure the best thing for the long term of our club. And even if you don't agree with it, there definitely will be some good logic behind it. Support the man. He's earned it. Sarcastic comments aimed in his direction are so lame.

There's physical recovery time, mental fatigue and of course keeping the squad happy. Most players will not be able to give 100% if they're playing every game. Players that aren't switched on can cost you dearly.

MoPo pre-match interview: “Like all Champions League games, this one is important for us. We have to try to win, after two games at home with two defeats. It is important to change that feeling. The Swansea result was big for us, so we could believe again. We showed that we can play very well. Now it’s important we are in a good way again, so our supporters can see us win at Wembley. We have the possibility to play more games here, and we must make Wembley feel like home.”

Earned our Trust?

Yes but not from the way he fudged up rotation repeatedly.

This is the same guy that wasted players playing first team players in the Europa groups all last season only for him to make 7 changes for Dortmund away.

Chadli upfront. Mason and Carroll in the middle. Onomah!

It was a complete waste of first team players earlier in the competition.

And tonight will be the exact same thing.

If we want to break the flimflam Wembley curse, we should just request to play West Ham opening game next season.

Man united have a day less to recover in a must win game away

Not really an excuse

Incredible.
You must have a unique insight into what is going on at the club for such proclamations.
How about something as simple as 'these players, who will play the majority of our 'home' games at Wembley next season, need to walk off the pitch having WON there?'

Which one was the guy who was everywhere at CSKAs ground? Defensive midfielder and was really impressive
Vernbloom (and he is out)

CSKA of recent years always makes the same mistake with offside trap. Plus their CBs are about 70 years combined and a bit slower than turtles.

Good attack. Unlucky Dele.

Great play from Eriksen, great assist. Will not go into the stats notebook of the nerds.

Other than the "crosses don't work" stat of course
