***OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V manchester united***

Bentaleb biggest fan but he has been awful today.
MS has committed 5 fouls and nothing, dembelle one and he's gets spoken to, but the refs not a homer! Aye right

Can someone please tell what Ye see in bentaleb ?? Kept my silence but bang average always came to mind .. Woeful passer of ball and has to come at half time .. No drive pathetic performance ..at fault for goal and three times lost ball in middle of field in dangerous positions .. Absolutely shocking

Dier has been invisible (wasn't present to offer defensive cover when Rooney was free in the box for the goal, and has stayed back when Kane and Eriksen clearly need support in the middle), and that's shown in the horrible game Bentaleb's had so far.

This is what will f*cking happen if we penny pinch like utterly unambitious c*nts all the way up to the start of the season. Still, nothing to be done about it now. Get Alli on for Dier second half, let's see some energy in midfield, the kind we showed for the first fifteen-odd mimutes. COYS!

Calm down.

We've been at least as good as Utd over the course of the first half. Totally dominated the first quarter of the game. Failed to take our chances. Gave a sloppy ball away. And scored an unfortunate own goal.

.....Against one of the title favourites in their own back yard.

Hardly a time for wrist slitting or hysterical finger pointing.

Lets not forget Eriksen - cross bar challenge champ - cleared the cross bar when clean through. Kane got the ball in the box a few times and united created almost nothing!

Young team need to keep their heads up!!!!! And come back stronger.

Surely it's down to Bentaleb?? Dier was the more advanced of the pivot and had no chance when Bentaleb gave the ball away in such a position. Dier has done an aweful lot of good work and has made countless interceptions and tackles all over the place.

As for those making such a fuss over Carrick and Schneiderlin. The pair of them have been mugged by our press and caught dawdling on the ball. Since the goal they have been decent but our levels have dropped substantially.

Carroll or Alli for Bentaleb. Neither could be any worse. It's as if he thinks this is a 5-a-side game in his backyard.
And even then he is garbage .. Not good enough for first 11 and wud be nowhere near mine .. No chance of a 4th with this lad playing 38 games .. Decent player to bring on when winning but just shocked at how brick he is playing

Our problem is that we have six defensive minded players and four attacking minded players. And not much in-between.
The two DMs don't add much to the transition to attack, and as ManU push men on the DMS are pegged back and Eriksen ends up having to do two jobs linking with defence and attack and playing further forward.
Bentaleb - given his Jenasesque love of the casual square ball, should be replaced with a midfielder who adds more going forward. Carroll or Alli.

I thought Dier had some very good passages of play, you can't mention him in terms of the goal, that is just vindictive, where was the rest of the defence if you want to criticise Dier?!

Absent. I'm not excusing them. But a specialist DM (as opposed to a CB hastily converted into a DM) would have offered better cover than Dier (probably caught in two minds) did.

Bentaleb has been horrible and it has nothing to do with penny pinching. Are you saying that a different cm partner would have prevented him from passing straight to a red shirt every other time?

Yeah, definitely. That's exactly what I'm saying. A midfield partner who presents himself for a pass instead of hesitantly hanging around just in front of the CBs (and then getting drawn to the ball too much to be a viable shield) would probably have helped Bentaleb out.

Very frustrating 45 minutes. It took us a few minutes to get into the game (first match of the season at Old Trafford - that's to be expected). But then we absolutely dominated them for 15 minutes. We played quality football and made United look ordinary. Bentaleb kept casually passing the ball to the opposition, but aside from that we looked like we would win the match at a canter.

Then (yet again) Bentaleb messes up a short pass and we're a goal down. And it was like a switch got flipped and we weren't in the game for the rest of the half.

Plenty of positives to be taken from the first 22 minutes of the game. Not sure what to say about the rest though. At least we've not conceded again, but it's very worrying that our heads seem to collectively drop the moment we concede a goal.

Kane far too selfish, not just in regards to this game but in general. Needs to release the ball a lot sooner when in possession and also needs to pass the ball when there are better options available in front of goal.

You mean like when he didn't float that glorious chip to Eriksen? That kind of selfish?

Normal service has resumed re refs at Old Trafford. We got nothing from the prick in black. Bentaleb...he's not all that. Last season he turned the ball over like all the time with poor passes. Rooney not tracked at all. A real pity because we were all over them in the first twenty. In mid field we are being carved open.

If we lose this game in an 'unfortunate' manner, I'd be even more angry, believe me. A resounding defeat would leave me dejected. A close, unlucky defeat just tinkles me off, as I believe this team can do better than that against a fairly poor United side.

Like I said, let's see more of the energy we showed in the first fifteen minutes. Let's get Alli on for Dier. Let's take charge, the way I know we can.

Dier's job is to break up play, and both positioning and tackle wise he is doing a good job. Bentaleb's job is to do the link up and transitioning between defence and attack and he isn't up to it at the top level. He is not too bad at turning the ball over, but he is too casual, (and always has been) and not quick or accurate enough seeing the game in front of him and playing the ball forward accordingly.

I watched them .. I'm also watching this one are u ?? Proper centre midfielders play well 99% of time , such a vital position this lad doesn't have the balls to do it .. Any player in this position who can't pass the ball ten yards under no pressure and does it constantly needs to benched end of .. Every goal we concede self inflicted .. Absolute bollicking he should be getting as we type
