Aaron Lennon

Everton are playing 4-3-3 with Azza top right. I assume this means no defensive responsibility... Again they are wi... oops - now drawing. How has he played without having to defend (I assume)?

He did his back tracking work as well today.

What is different was he was allowed to play in the middle. As always Lennon looks good once he's got a decent run, too often he gets injured right after.

He's playing well for Everton, but he probably needed the move to get him going. He didn't seem in any danger of getting into form for us the past couple of seasons. Just coz he's doing well there doesn't mean we should have kept him imo.

No but the fact that he's still be better than Townsend & puts in a defensive shift does.

Happy to see him doing well at Everton, they still have to play UTD and Soton so long may his good form continue.

I never wanted to get rid of lennon, infinitely better than townsend. So annoying. Hope he does well though, shame it isn't for us :(

He probably would have done better than Townsend, but that doesn't mean Poch was wrong to take the gamble on Townsend/Lamela for that position. Lennon wasn't offering us much over a long period of time, Poch hoped that Lamela/Townsend would step up this season but it hasn't happened...but we only know that by giving them the chance to play.

It's quite typical that players hit the top form as soon as they have left Spurs.

No, its quite typical that players given a run in a team, with a set system (if they have the talent), will produce = Siggy, Lennon

Some players are excellent are certain roles, if you choose to setup/play in a way that doesn't align to those roles, the player does not deliver.
