*** OMT Spurs vs West London Defence League

Yeah Son is awful defensively.
I actually think he absolves responsibility rather than get beat / outmuscled and blamed.
Whatever the reason , it's a problem , especially in that formation.
Ultimately it's Sons fault , I know that but the senior players can take on the responsibility of screaming at him to get back.
Alternatively, someone else needs to go there , such as Richarlison,as you suggested.
Also , is there any point having all eleven of our own players in our box defending corners ?
Surely Son would be better left upfield , dragging a couple of the opposition players beck with him, or at the very least he can stay on the edge of the box.
Chelsea had at least two players outside the box on their first goal , I'm not sure if they had any others on the halfway line but at least two outside the box so why did we have eleven players inside the box?
Son is absolutely no use at all in the penalty area on set pieces as we've seen today and on other occasions.

Fully agreed re: set pieces. It's even more annoying because when we head the ball clear, no one is upfield so it just ends up coming back at us and we're stuck in the box until we finally either concede another break or get it out for a throw and reorganize.

Long spells of their possession were started that way - a corner we cleared that they picked up wnd sent back in.

Oh and cucarella, I think you’re a very good player, but if you don’t want your hair pulled, please get a sensible haircut. Shame you chose those fudgers to pla for..

he doesn't need to get the haircut, he just needs to be smart and not stamp on someone who is definitely going to get their own back at the next opportunity

his hair reminds me of BAE, nobody ever pulled his hair, because he wasn't a clam

It’s never a footballer’s haircut. Imagine turning up to training with that mop if Brian Clough was your manager. Romero should have ripped it off.

Conte has to take blame for our set up = having 3up front when we don't have ways to get the ball to them.

Sess was not good enough and he knew it, looked devastated when he went off. Hope he gets over this.

Romero and Kulu did work the ball down the wings successfully but crossing was poor, and Kane was asleep when a really good cross arrived.

And there was no supply from the middle, not midfield not defence.

If Conte persists with this set up formation I can us going for ballers like Zaniolo and Bastoni for supply through the center.

What Conte achieved was not 11 but 15 players who could stick with his intensity and intent. The subs came up and did what they could to pile the pressure on Chelsea.

Conte was outsmarted by Tuchel but Spurs players had more will to get the goals. The players forced the points for us and credit to for the ugly draw but great contest. So that was Conte's victory - he has integrated the new players and instilled a new drive and aggression for the team. Each one of them a mini-Conte, with the main man inspired to collect a yellow and red card to show for himself.

Probably the best team spirit I've witnessed at Spurs.

Watching the PEH goal again, it was a foul by Bentancur, even if there was slight contact on the ball he took the players legs.

And Richarlison was offside.

I'd be fuming if they got away with a tackle like Bentancur's - he definitely got the ball, but that doesn't automatically mean it's not a foul. Do I care? Do I fudge.

On the offside...odd one. If Richarlison isn't there, the Chelsea defender is still in the way of Mendy, and he gets a touch on the ball. So I don't think you can say Richarlison was making that much of a difference. But it's easy to say with Spurs-tinted glasses on.

oh yes son was poor today. didn't know how to shake his marker off.

I suggested we started Richarlison over Son. Son's display was one of the reasons we were sompoor in the first half. Neither him nor Kane were first to the ball and neither could hold the ball up - thereby inviting unrelenting pressure. Son would have been much better utilised when the spaces opened up later in the game.

Sess was also poor today and completely in Loftus Cheeks pocket. Conte wascright to take him off but should have started Peresic in such a game.

Mistakes by Conte today almost cost us. We got a lucky in the end.

Our set piece specialist coach seems to have had an adverse effect on our defending set pieces. Whoever thought leaving their dominating centre half unmarked and the whole of the back part of the penalty area vacant needs their head examining.
